USB Webkey May Replace Flash Drives As Corporate Swag

By Luke Anderson

If you’ve ever been to any kind of trade show in the last few years, you’ve no doubt gotten a USB flash drive from one of the vendors. They hand them out like candy these days (I think I had close to a dozen by the end of my last show), but unfortunately they don’t help the company stand out. This Push Button USB Webkey may very well start replacing promotional thumb drives.

Rather than giving you a 512MB flash drive (or a 16MB one, which is almost completely useless these days) a company may hand you this strange-looking USB hub. There’s actually more than meets the eye with this two port hub. If you press the top of the hub, it will automatically open up your default browser and navigate to a specific address. Seems interesting enough, though I’d rather take a flash drive any day. Then again, free stuff is free stuff.

Remote Buddy Stylish Finds Your Lost Remotes

By Luke Anderson

How many remotes do you have in your living room? Personally, I have three: one for the TV/cable box, one for my home theater system and one for my Xbox 360. At any given time, at least two of these are missing. Generally I’ve found that either I wandered off into another room and set one down, or the couch at it. Still, I spend more time searching for them than I’d like. That’s why something like this Remote Buddy Stylish could come in handy.

First, I would like to point out that despite its name, this thing doesn’t actually look all that stylish. It is useful in the respect that it not only provides a good place to set your remotes, but it will also locate them for you at the push of a button. It also provides a drink holder, so you don’t lose that too. You can get yours for right around $60.

D Angle Guitar Hanger Keeps Your Guitar Safe Almost Anywhere

By Luke Anderson

Every now and then I come across something that seems so simple that  it boggles my mind. Take this D Angle Guitar Hanger.  I play the guitar (very badly) and it’s not always easy to find somewhere to set it for a few minutes. Sure, I could lean it up against something, but I really don’t want it getting knocked over. This simple hanger will sit on a horozontal surface and hang your guitar in place. Simple, effective and at $17.99 it’s pretty cheap too.

StarChase Introduces A New GPS Tracking Device For Police Cruisers

By Luke Anderson

I’ve always wondered what’s going through people’s minds when they run from the cops. I mean, if you’re in a major city with a large police force and helicopters flying around, there’s not a good chance of getting away safely. Well thanks to some new technology, these people might actually be able outrun the cops. Of course, what they don’t know is that they’re being tracked.

Much like Han Solo and the gang escaping from the Death Star, they will be allowed to get away to some remote location where the police can then quietly gather a large force and surround the perps. The little gadget responsible is a small GPS receiver, wireless transmitter and battery all wrapped up into a nice bullet-shaped package. It would be fired from a device mounted on the bumper of a police cruiser.

This is something I hope they implement sometime in the near future. This would eliminate the need for high-speed chases, and thus prevent many needless injuries caused by wreckless driving.

Bierstick Lets You Chug Beer At 1 Can Per Second

By Luke Anderson

Have you ever seen that guy at a party that can chug a beer in just 5 seconds? Well if you’ve ever wanted to show him up with your awesome chugging skills, this Bierstick would be the way to do it.

There’s really not much to this contraption. You fill it up with two (yes two!) cans of your favorite beer (or any beer, it’s not like you’re going to taste it), stick one end in your mouth, then slam it against a wall. If properly executed, you’ll down both beers in around 2 seconds. If improperly executed, you just busted out your front teeth. Impress your drunken friends for just $20.

Add An LED Waterfall To Your Desk

USB Fountain

By Luke Anderson

My desk is usually kept rather neat with only a few essential gadgets in addition to my regular mice and keyboards. Some people enjoy small items that help them reach a state of zen, such as plants or even a rock garden of some sort. Here’s one soothing accessory that will make use of an extra USB port.

If you like the sound of running water, then you might go for a small fountain with smooth pebbles or something on your desk. However, if you also like colorful lights, then you’ll definitely want to go with the USB Illuminated Cloud Fountain for $24. Me? I find my state of zen with a can of Mountain Dew and some classic rock playing over my speakers.

Measure Your Car’s Performance With K.A.T.

By Luke Anderson

If you’re the kind of car enthusiast that loves trying to squeeze ever last drop of performance out of your ride, then you probably like measuring things like 0-60 acceleration and ¼ mile times. While there are ways to measure these sorts of things, few are as simple as the K.A.T. Matrix.

This handy little gadget mounts to your windsheild or dashboard and gives you readouts on everything from horsepower, g-forces, acceleration and ¼ mile speeds. It manages to pull this off using a built-in accelerometer, which is likely more accurate than your buddy standing back watching with a stopwatch. You can pick one up for around $60, which isn’t bad when you consider all of the features.

Stir Mug Does All Of The Work For You

By Luke Anderson

I don’t know much about coffee, or exactly how much it should be stirred, but I have it on good authority that if you don’t get it properly mixed up, it can taste pretty bad. You have a few options for stirring up your cup of Joe such as spoons, stir sticks and a self-stirring mug. That’s right, now you don’t even need to bother stirring it yourself.

This coffee mug comes with a special base that will keep things mixed up for you while you’re busy typing or playing solitaire at your desk. They’ve kindly included a clear snap-on lid that will prevent any spills, which is probably best for a drink that’s best served hot.  This cool little gadget can be had for just $19.

Bring Back Fond Memories With A Duplo Webcam

By Luke Anderson

I don’t know about kids today, but I know that my favorite toy when I was young had to be my Legos. I would easily spend more time with them than even my Nintendo. Well these days I don’t play with them anymore (though there are still some sitting on a shelf in my office), but at least thanks to someone’s creative skills I could have my very own Lego webcam.

Sure, this is made using a Duplo block, but it is still technically Lego. It’s probably not the best cam in the world, however, think about your $80 investment as a trip down memory lane.
