Can’t Stop Eating? Well, At Least These Gluttony Pants Won’t Stop Fitting

Gluttony Pants

You know it’s time to stop asking for second (or third) helpings when your pants are fit to burst. Over the years, people found a way to circumvent this discomfort by wearing their ‘fat pants’ when they know they’re about to eat more than they should, like when they’re attending a party or going to an eat-all-you-can buffet.

You probably have a pair in your closet, whether it’s sweatpants or a pair of jeans that’s two sizes bigger than your usual. Fat pants may be more forgiving on your waist, but not so much on the other parts of your body, making you look frumpy and short and just generally unattractive.

Then along came the Gluttony Pants.

The Cake Hotel: A Sweet Escape for One Night Only

Cake Hotel

Hansel and Gretel’s gingerbread house has got nothing on the Cake Hotel. For one, the witch-made house in their story obviously can’t hold up to harsh outdoor conditions. It has pretty crappy interiors, too, considering the fact that it was pretty bare except for a huge oven (or cauldron–depending on which version of the story you’re reading) where the kids were supposed to be cooked in.

On the other hand, the Cake Hotel put up by refinery Tate and Lyle Sugars is all about comfort and luxury. The lush room was decorated with elaborate and edible trimmings and furnishings, with vanilla sponge cushions propped up on the bed and a hand-stitched meringue rug that you’re supposed to chew on, now walk on.

Sleep If U Can App: Take the Exact Same Picture You Set Earlier to Shut the Alarm

Alarm Clock

The mark of a good alarm clock app is when people hate it–because then, it’ll mean that it actually works. The newest alarm clock app making the rounds is called Sleep If U Can. It’s funny that they should pose that challenge, because I’m sure most people who get this app won’t be able to once the alarm goes off.

What sets this app apart from the rest is what you’re supposed to do in order to shut it up. There’s no snooze button or password to enter. Instead, you’ll have to get up and take the exact same photo of whatever it was you chose to set as your wake-up shot earlier.

Tetris Your House: How Many Tetris Blocks Will It Take to Fill Up Your Home?

Tetris House

They sure don’t make video games like they used to. There are only a few games nowadays that can truly make you use your old noggin. Remember Tetris? I remember spending many summer afternoons arranging Tetris blocks all over the screen with the game booted up on our old Family Computer.

You can still play the game provided you have the right emulator. On a related note, taking the classic game’s concept of building blocks is this neat little web app by Movoto that was designed by Megan Radich. If you’ve ever wondered how many Tetris blocks it would take to cover or build your entire house, then wonder no more…

Kickstartin’ Terror: COBRA Needs Your Help to Rebuild Cobra Island

Cobra Kickstarter

Think you’ve seen the last of Cobra? Think again. They’re getting ready to wreak terror once more, but before they can do that, they need to rebuild their secret headquarters that was destroyed by GI Joe. Unfortunately, that’s going to require a whole lot of money–money that the Cobra organization doesn’t have. Rallying behind them are their colleagues Destro and Dr. Mindbender, but they can’t spare that much cash as well.

The solution? Kickstarter.

Rollie Eggmaster Makes Egg Tubes On Sticks

Screen Shot 2013-03-21 at 1.11.14 AM

Breakfast got you stumped? The Rollie Eggmaster turns the difficult task of… cooking eggs into one that’s as simple as making a toast. Simply crack your eggs right into its cylindrical non-stick container, press a button and wait for your fully cooked egg creation to, uh, rise out of there. There’s a heating element inside that cooks your eggs, and a mechanical ejector that pushes the contents out when ready. Like any self-respecting infomercial-grade product, the Rollie Eggmaster actually looks like something we might enjoy around the office… once we get past everything looking a little like turds. Because when you think about it, it’s kind of genius. You can eat your eggs on a stick, which is great when you’re running out the door and can’t sit for breakfast. Or you can make other things like burritos, or pizza rolls. We’re… we’re getting the credit card as we type these words. It’s $30!

Bonus: tons of giggles at the rising-boner appearance of the egg products as they eject slowly.

Face Stealer App: Letting People Steal Other People’s Faces, One Face At a Time

Face Stealer

Eyes too small? Nose a little bit crooked? Cheekbones too high for your taste? Everyone has something to complain about how they look. Perhaps it wasn’t the intention of the Face Stealer app to make people feel better about their looks, but I think that’s what most people will end up feeling after they ‘steal’ a couple of faces and try them on for size using this app.

So it’s not the most sophisticated face merging app there is, but it does the job fairly well and it’s for free.

Reddit Keeps Things Simple With their New Webseries ‘Explain Like I’m Five’

Concepts like Friederich Nietzsche and his philosophy of existentialism can be difficult to understand. Reddit knows this, which is why they’re explaining what it’s all about in the simplest terms and ways possible in the first episode of their new web series called ‘Explain Like I’m Five.’ I think it’s clear what they intend to do from the title of the series itself.

If you frequent the site, there’s a subreddit of the same name that exists with the same concept as the series. Essentially, complex topics are tackled and discussed in such a way that even five-year-olds could understand. At least, that’s what they hope to do, in theory.

Organic Dehydrated Water: Gluten-Free, No MSG, and For Fools Only

Organic Dehydrated Water

There’s a reason why you should pay attention to labels. Most health buffs these days pick ‘organic’ options where they’re available, while those on a particular diet look for products marked ‘gluten-free.’ But for the ultimate ‘healthy’ treat, I invite you to give organic dehydrated water a shot. It’s free from MSG, it doesn’t contain any gluten, and it’s fresh and definitely not made from concentrate, if you’re worried about that.

Oh, and in case you missed the part about it being dehydrated water, then you fit the target market for these tins–the fools market, that is.
