New Captain America Collectible Figure is the Hero We Need

With the highly anticipated world premiere of Captain America: Civil War on May 6th, toy manufacturers have released brand new collectable figures – and Steve Rogers is one of the best we’ve seen in a while. Not only can you show your allegiance to Captain America and his team during this upcoming civil war, but you can also display the full range of Cap’s badassery. The 1/6th scale collectable figure comes with Cap’s iconic shield (complete with scratch marks we believe from Black Panther during the forthcoming movie), as well as a slightly updated suit. Even though we’ve seen Steve’s longtime friend Bucky Barnes return to the side of good in the first trailer for Civil War, we have a feeling Cap’s going to need his full bag of tricks to take on Iron Man and his team next month.

Of course, collectable figures aren’t the only awesome Captain America merchandise we’ve seen lately. Along with Cap’s shield as a bedside light, a Captain America mug over at Hot Topic is bound to make your coffee taste that little bit more patriotic – take a look here. That said, there’s only so much ass-kicking some merch can do, as it could be difficult to battle evil with ceramic. Playing as Captain America in an online RPG named Marvel Heroes is probably the closest you’re going to get to having super-soldier powers and a vibranium shield. For those interested, the free game can be played on SevenGames.

Even though the ending of Civil War is still yet to be unveiled (unless you’ve specifically searched for spoilers), we expect that current Captain America actor Chris Evans will scheduled in the two upcoming Avengers movies, titled Infinity War – Part 1 (2018) and Infinity War – Part 2 (2019), so we hope he makes it through Civil War. However, as we’ve seen with Game of Thrones, popular characters sometimes don’t survive it to the end… but all will be revealed come May 6th.

Modern Art: Explained

File this one under “pop culture”, or even just “culture”, but we’ve come across a handy image that we’d like to share with you all, even if it has absolutely nothing to do with tech or gadgets. It’s a drawing by John Atkinson, and it does a decent job of explaining the fundamental differences between the different types of art styles. From cubism to surrealism, this little guide will help you sound a little more cultured next time your girlfriend drags you to the museum.

This Happens Way Too Much

This is so. Much. Fun. This, along with “Hi, how are you?” “Good, and you?” “Good, thanks, and you?”… It’s the little failed social interactions that teach us to either realize it’s no big deal and it happens to everyone and life goes on, OR, that we should never set foot outside, for any reason, ever.

And This Is Why I Don’t Play RPGs

Ain’t nobody got time for that! Geez, just show me where to point my gun, rinse, and repeat.

Anyone else can’t stand role playing games?

TV These Days…

The link to tech or gadgets? None. But hey, you watch TV, right? This made us snort for a second or two, so you might enjoy it too.

Carry on.

About 20 Times A Day

I do this with the fridge too. I open it, stare inside, close it… then do it again a few times.

Ugh… it’s a long Monday.

“It’s Tuesday today!”

Oh. Right.

I should get a job where I have to wear pants…

Google Is A Little Prudish, Not That We Didn’t Already Know It

Tee hee… Just try searching for this. It’s funny.

Not that it’s anything new, that Google won’t autocomplete your searches for a long laundry list of words it deems offensive or obscene. The iPhone seems to have the same ducking feature, and it’s sort of patronizing… and so is censorship in general. But we’re not trying to make some kind of point here, we’re just laughing at the comic. We’re really just overgrown kids here, at OhGizmo! HQ.

The Anatomy Of Shows

It’s no secret that TV shows follow a formula. Ever wonder what it is, for various shows? This is John Atkinson’s take on that. We think it’s particularly accurate, regardless of how cynical you think we might be. And that right there, is the reason we download or stream anything we decide to watch.
