There’s Catnip Wine So You Don’t Have To Drink Alone!

catnip-wine-for-cats

You fancy a little nightcap before hitting the sack? Or maybe you don’t want to think of it like that, maybe you’re more upfront: you like getting smashed by yourself? Look, we don’t judge, but if you’ve grown tired of doing that alone, but still can’t stand the company of humans, you might want to consider enrolling your cat into your solo drinking activities. Yes, your cat. Pictured above is The MosCATo, and the Pinot Meow, two catnip-based non-alcoholic drinks for your feline friend to enjoy. They’re made from a proprietary blend of catnip, fresh beets, and natural preservatives. And what do they do to your cat?

Well, depending on how much they drink – the effects will vary. When cats smell catnip, they tend to get funny, move around and play a lot. The exact opposite occurs when they ingest catnip. They normally will become more “mellowed” out when they drink the wine so it might actually help for those restless nights.

Mellowed out kitty? Yeah, they already spend 3/4 of their life asleep, so we’re not sure where the fun is in this drink. But we imagine it does’t matter anyway, you’ll be too smashed to care. It’s $12 for an 8 Mewounce (get it?) bottle.

The Tables Have Turned: You Can Be The One Licking Your Cat This Time

licki-brush-1

Cats are great. Even their little raspy tongues licking you is kind of fun. But haven’t you ever wished you could be the one liking them, rather than the other way around? No? Well… neither have we. But the folks behind Licki Brush seem to think there’s a market for this. Either that, or we’re looking at a very late April’s Fool. The Licki Brush is meant to be inserted in your mouth, and used to brush/lick your cat without getting his fur in your mouth. There’s a website, and they mention an upcoming Kickstarter, though that’s all the info we have. How much? Is it real? Is anyone going to buy this? It’s all up in the air now, but we thought it cute nevertheless.

For Kitty: A Modular Cardboard Cat Castle

Boxkitty

Because you’re fond of buying things for you cat, even though you know he’ll probably just sniff around it for a few minutes then proceed to ignore it altogether, we’d like to present the Boxkitty. It’s a crowdfunded modular cardboard cat castle. Each module attaches to the other via velcro, and allows you to create all kinds of shapes, Minecraft-style. Build a skyscraper, a twin-tower castle, a giant cube, or a linear stripmall-style abode. The sky is the limit. Well… that and your budget: the basic set, which allows you to build two cubes and a pyramid, costs $55. For $100 you could upgrade to the Fortastic Set, good enough to build a fort made up of four cubes, a watchtower, and a little pyramid roof. The cardboard used is extra thick, somewhat scratch-proof and water resistant. Considering the lengths some people go to to please their feline friends, we’re pretty confident Boxkitty will do well, despite the campaign not being fully funded at the moment. If it does reach its goal though, you’ll only have to wait until June of this year to get your product.

So… There’s a Cat Paw Scented Handcream, and A… Back-of-a-cat-head Perfume

perfume-olor-cabeza-gato

Look, we’re not saying that weird stuff comes out of Japan, it’s just that… weird stuff does tend to come out of Japan. Of course, maybe it’s just weird to us, whereas any native Japanese person won’t even blink at the mention of a Cat Paw Scented Handcream, or a Back-Of-A-Cat’s-Head Perfume. Whatever the cultural observation to be made on the existence of this product, the fact remains that it appears to be real. It’s hard to tell what’s really going on from a translated page, but it seems that the hand cream contains cosmetic industry buzzword components, like hyaluronic acid and collagen and has been specially formulated to recreate a pleasant version of the scent found in cat paws. Same story for the perfume, though it seems to be the kind that you spray on fabric. The hand cream costs in the vicinity of $10, while the perfume is closer to $23.

A Cat Suit With A Pouch For A Cat Is The Catsuit You’ve Always Wanted

neko-suit-1

Aw man, we’re surprised the Internet didn’t break when news of this Cat Suit came out. It’s a lot like the Mewgaroo Hoodie we wrote about in May, it even bears the same name, only it’s a jumpsuit with cat ears and cat tail, or a Catsuit if you will. And like it’s hoodie cousin, it has a special pouch with a top opening in which you can stuff your cat, to complete the image. Oh, and a trap door so you can do your business while still carrying your kitty, which will undoubtedly make him happy and not freak out at all. Crazy cat ladies everywhere will jump at the opportunity to make a trip to the local Walmart donning this most awesome cat-loving and sanity-defying costume. It’s 8,000 Yen, or about $65.

Aw: Cat Gloves Make Your Index Finger Look Like A Tail, Work With Smartphones

cat-tail-gloves

That headline pretty much sums up the product. It’s just a quirky little glove with a cat printed on the back, and if you wiggle your finger across your smartphone’s screen, it looks like a wagging cat tail or something. They’re obviously Japanese, where we imagine this sort of thing wouldn’t have people shaking their heads in bewilderment as we think they’ll do here. They seem to cost around 3,980 Yen, which is around $33.

Girl Makes $700 Cat Bags

realistic-cat-bags-3

No, these are not taxidermied. They’re hand-crafted bags made by Japanese artist Pico. She makes them one at a time, probably takes forever, and so feels entitled to charge $700 for them. If I were to spend ungodly hours making cat bags, I probably would add a zero to that figure, but that’s just me. They’re actually up for sale on a Japanese Yahoo Auction website, so maybe $700 is what one of them sold for while other may fetch different prices (after reading another article on the topic, that’s exactly what it is. Still… $700?!). I’m not sure since everything is in Japanese and I can’t find proper information. So instead of being an informative post, just revel in pictures of super cute kitty purses and if you’re feeling adventurous, try to navigate the links to figure out how to get your own.

Got The Kitty Keyboard Syndrome? Fix It With The Neko Pochi Anti-Cat Keyboard Cover

neko-pochi-anti-cat-protection-keyboard-cover-1

Cats are great most of the time, expect when they decide that your keyboard is the best place to take a nap. And of course, they take this decision only when you’re actually working, because what fun would it be otherwise? The Neko Pochi Anti-Cat Keyboard Cover tries to deal with this reality by providing you a clear plastic cover that can withstand cats up to 10kg (about 22 lbs), yet allows you to keep working even when your feline visitor is attempting to hijack your productivity. It covers most standard keyboards, and comes in clear, yellow, and blue colors. And even if you don’t have a cat, the cover can be useful for setting down your phone or tablet and keeping an eye on your notifications.

The only problem is the price: $74! It’s imported from Japan, granted, but at that price you might as well buy your cat some catnip and get him high every time you need to get something done. Or, you know… not be a pushover and just shoo him off.

The Mewgaroo Hoodie Has a Special Pouch To Carry Your Cat In

mewgaroo-1

You love your cat and want him with you at all times; in this respect you’re a normal human being. Now, since you love him so much, you could always carry him around in your arms (if he lets you)… but why be so primitive when you can don a hoodie specially made for the occasion? The Mewgaoo Hoodie has a special pouch that’s large enough to accommodate a kitty. There’s a removable liner so things don’t get too gross in there. And to further emphasize that this is a cat-centric garment, the hoodie features cat ears on the hood, and cat paws on the sleeves. So by buying this piece of clothing you accomplish a few things: you provide your feline friend with a more comfortable vehicle, and you proudly proclaim to the world that you may have a… robust love of cats. Nothing too weird with that, to be honest, and at ?5,980 (about $50), it doesn’t cost a fortune.
