Sushi Cats: A Photo Series of Adorable Felines Served Up as Sushi

Sushi Cats0

Love cats? Love sushi? Then you’ll love Sushi Cats. Before you freak out and insist that you don’t find cat sushi appetizing, let me reassure you that Sushi Cats isn’t sushi that’s made from cats. Instead, it’s actually a photo series by Japan-based company Tange & Nakimushi Peanuts that showcases the most adorable cats dressed up as sushi.

The cats are perched on a comfortable-looking gigantic rice pillow and they’re “topped” with an array of stuff, ranging from condiments and seafood to handbags and striped socks. There are more photos from the series after the jump.

Hackycat Wants You to Kick Cats and Collect Cheezburgers–All In the Name of Fun!

Hackycat

Love them or hate them, cats and the hoards of cat-related memes, games, and images spread all over the interwebs are here to stay. The newest is Hackycat, which wants you to save cats from exploding–because for some reason, they’ll get blown to bits if they hit the ground–by kicking them. It’s either a sore behind or, well, an impending explosion, so I’d definitely choose the former if I were a cat.

To make things more fun and challenging, the player can get some awesome power-ups and superkicks by collecting cheezburgers (without the ‘E’), because yeah, we all know the secret to a long and active life are these calorie-filled sandwiches. Hit the break for a trailer of the game.

Vinecats Shows You That It’s Cats All Over the World Tonight

Vinecats

Vine is supposedly Twitter’s answer to Instagram, but it seems like a weak concept at best. The idea behind it is to capture videos up to six seconds long and share them with others through the iOS app. Most of the ones we’ve seen so far are basically 6-second long clips of still (or slightly animate) objects, animals, or scenery–nothing that a picture can’t take care of.

Fat Pincushion Cats Dressed Up as Your Favorite Characters are Purrrfect!

Fat Pincushion Cats

Cats purr, meow, and cough up hairballs that are as big as their heads sometimes, but we love them anyway. The true testament to that statement stems from the fact that there are a gazillion memes and YouTube videos that are all dedicated to the smartness and prowess of the feline species.

Aside from this, there’s also a ton of cat-related products that feature cats in all sorts of costumes and positions, like these Fat Pincushion Cats. I think you’ll have a hard time sticking any pins and needles into them because they just look too darned adorable. They’re dressed up in all sorts of funky garb too, and if you’re as geeky as I think you are, then you’ll most likely recognize what they’re wearing and who they’re supposed to be.

Check out more cat pincushions in cushion after the break.

The CatCrib Is Like A Hammock For Your Kitty

You can spend all kinds of money buying kitty a fancy new bed for him to sleep in, but you know that in the end he’ll fall in love with a random piece of cardboard and call that home. Such are cats. But if you buy him a CatCrib and he ignores it, at least you won’t have it lying around, taking up all kinds of space, like that $100 faux-fur bed you bought just last summer that hasn’t even been used once. The CatCrib is kind of like a hammock that attaches to anything with four legs, efficiently using space that would be wasted otherwise. It looks comfy enough for a feline to appreciate, and at $29 in three different colours, won’t break the bank if he just ignores it.

Hit the jump for a video of a random grey cat properly trained to use the CatCrib, as well as links.

This Sofa Comes With A Cat Habitrail

This looks like a fantastic idea until you realize just how much it isn’t. It’s a sofa with an integrated set of tubes that form a Habitrail-like tunnel for your kitty to explore. It seems pretty clever, right? But then you think about it some more and realize a few things. First off, if your lovely pet has a vomiting accident while in there, what are you supposed to do? It doesn’t look like you can take any of it apart for cleaning. Also, if you own a cat, you’ll know that they have a tendency to ignore the fancy houses/beds/cots/anything expensive that you can buy them, and instead comfortably settle on a piece of IKEA cardboard you forgot to throw. So what’s going to happen with that couch? And then there’s that opening on the back, just behind where your neck/back of head would be, perfect for your kitty to come up from behind and bite on your ear in the middle of a movie. Perfect!

It’s made by designer Seungji Mun and doesn’t look like it’s for sale or even being commercially produced. We say: good. Keep your cat budget for food and water; pretty much the only things they’ll acknowledge.
