Clever Kebab Maker Is Perfect For Summer

There are few things more satisfying than barbecued meat on a stick. But what would be the point of living in civilized society if we didn’t invent some kind of tool for making the process of getting the meat on the skewers easier? The Clever Kebab Maker makes it super simple to just layer your meats and veggies inside, stick the skewers right through the openings, and cuts your protein into perfect 1.2″ cubes. You can easily make 16 kebabs at once, and it doesn’t have to be meat only; the device will work with cakes, fruit, or pretty much anything you’d wanna eat off a stick. It’s all of $35.

Elegantly Designed Portable Grill

The Grillo from FormAxiom is beautiful. At least, we think so. It’s a portable grill that uses a chainmail “fire hammock” to hold your burning coal or wood.

[Grillo uses a] flexible stainless-steel ring-mesh construction which is safe for any kind of solid fuel. The breathable texture allows for the fire to be ignited from underneath and can achieve a strong heat in a short amount of time. The surrounding tripod structure stays cool to touch.

With its slender folded form, the Grillo has numerous advantages over conventional barbecues. Not only is it easier to carry and store, but is even easier to clean. Simply hold the folded structure together, dip the cooking surface in water and scrub with a common cleaning brush.

Now comes the bad news. We don’t think you can buy Grillo. The website is from 2014, where the company invites you check out their prototypes at some exhibition in Italy. As a matter of fact, this grill made the rounds on the Internet back then, and a quick search today doesn’t reveal any way to actually purchase it. Which is a shame, really.

The Po’ Man’s Charcoal Grill

Just think of all the fun you’ll have inviting your friends over for a BBQ, only to show them your meats being cooked in the Po’ Man’s Charcoal Grill. It’s a grill that works just like any other, only it looks like a trash can. It is ventilated from the bottom, and features 1 round grate, a flavor lock drip-plate, and 2 skewers so that you can cook up a bunch of protein all at once. Most importantly it does its cooking while making a statement: “The Po Man Grill is more value, more flavor, more meat and less fancy pants.” It’s $115.

Too Much Star Wars Merch? How About The Star Wars Death Star BBQ

Screen Shot 2016-01-27 at 1.25.15 AM

Yeah… we’re not sure where to draw the line anymore. The amount of Star Wars merch is never ending, and we’re growing tired of reporting on it. We suspect you do too, so we’re gonna dial it down. But not before we tell you about the Star Wars Death Star BBQ. So yeah, it’s a BBQ shaped like the Death Star, and no it’s not an actual miniature Death Star on legs. It’s officially licensed, made from stainless steel and in every other way than its appearance a charcoal BBQ. It’s £99.99, which is a lot of pounds, especially if you count them in American dollars, all $143 of them. You’re free to pre-order, but it won’t ship until May 31st.

This Hippie Van Holds Your Drinks, Keeps Them Cool

Back in the days when Volkswagen wasn’t embroiled in an emissions scandal, they made cars everyone wanted to own. The Westfalia became an iconic representation of the 1960’s hippy culture, and it lives on in many people’s hearts as a throwback to a simpler time when music sounded better and Kim Kardashian didn’t exist. Even though the company doesn’t make them anymore, you can still get one in the form of the Volkswagen Panel Van Cooler, a large, wheeled cooler for drinks.

It faithfully reproduces the same trim details of an early Samba model that became an iconic symbol of the free-spirited 1960s, including the original’s eight panoramic roof windows, fabric sunroof, and two-colored paint scheme. An overhanging “hat” (that previously shielded a driver’s eyes from the sun) runs around the cooler’s entire top, providing an easy grip for retrieving one’s preferred beverage from a spacious interior with 3/4″ of insulation that holds up to 24 16-oz. bottles and ice. Made from pressed steel, the cooler has a telescoping 24″-long handle pulls the cooler along on its 8″-diameter rubber tires, allowing you to steer the cooler’s front wheels into just the right spot next to a lawn blanket. Integrated drain hole in the rear.

This cooler is as much of a statement as it is a practical way to keep your beverages cold. But all the attention to detail, and quality craftsmanship means it’s not cheap: $500.

PhotonGrill, An Inflatable High-Power Portable BBQ

The PhotonGrill is an inflatable, portable BBQ that uses the power of the sun to cook your food. It’s great for places where you’re not allowed to start a fire, since it uses no flames and no fuel to get the cooking pan scorching hot. It’ll reach temperatures of 500F/260C in as little as 5 minutes, which is faster than charcoal grills. It does this by letting you unfurl and inflate a parabolic mirror that focuses the sun’s rays exactly where the pan itself sits. The entire setup takes 3 minutes, and the pan provided with the kit is “solar-optimized”, whatever that means. The PhotonGrill neatly folds away into a backpack, making it easy to take with you on your adventures. If the idea of cooking your food with the planet’s only true source of extra-terrestrial energy tickles you, you’ll have to pledge around $225 to their Kickstarter campaign.

Homping Grill Is An Upgrade To Portable BBQs

BBQ season is in full swing and the list of ways to get your meat cooked is nearly endless. You’re going to have to add the Homping Grill to that: it’s a portable charcoal BBQ with an integrated fan, and 95% less smoke than traditional grills. It uses a special gel to light the briquettes, which reach 400 degrees within 2 to 3 minutes. The angled design of the cooking surface directs fat drippings away from the flames, reducing flareups and thereby keeping smoke production to a minimum. The battery-powered fan stokes the flames, maintaining a constant temp, or reducing it as needed. Best of all, it’s already available at $200.

Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver BBQ Tongs

Ok, so I’m going to admit something: I’ve never watched a single episode of Doctor Who. Not one. I know, I know, I’m an incult, a barbarian, a good for nothing, I know. But, this means I have no idea what these Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver BBQ Tongs are, or why they’re cool. I’m guessing some character in the show has them, or something like them, and now you can flip your burgers with the same type of props. Awesome.

Featuring metal tongs, a heatproof plastic handle, and storage case moulded to look just like the 11th and 12th Doctors tool of choice, theres even the iconic sonic screwdriver sound effect from the show to add some extra cool to proceedings. A must-have not just for the millions Whovians out there, but also for anyone who just wants to liven up their BBQ! Tongs measure approximately 22 1/2 long. Requires 2 x AA batteries (included).

So there you have it. For $35 you can pre-order these things, and they’ll ship in September. Just in time for some Fall grillin’.
