Fan-Made Batmobile to be auctioned at Mercedes-Benz World

Homemade 1989 Batmobile auction at Mercedes Benz World

Batmobiles are one of the most liked DIY vehicles and it is no surprise that many geeks venture out on making their own. In the past too we have seen many intuitive Batman fans making their own versions of a high end Batmobile, with some so impressive that it was hard to believe that they were made in backyards or home garage. One Batmobile that caught our eye just because of the amount of work put into its making and the attention to detail in its look, is the one pictured above. It also petrified us, considering that it will be auctioned by Historics for an estimated £90,000 at the Mercedes-Benz World in Brooklands.

Awesome Grandpa Transforms Old Daewoo Into a Batmobile for His Grandson

Daewoo Batmobile

We’ve seen our fair share of awesome moms and dads who go the extra mile to make their kids happy. There’s Cory, who modded her kid’s push car and turned into a DeLorean, and geek dad Mike, who modded Legend of Zelda so that his daughter could play as a heroine instead of Link.

Then there’s awesome grandpa Alan Bennet who modded an old Daewoo Matiz and transformed it into an original-series Batmobile with an accompanying red Bat phone.

Bruce Wayne Approves: Batman Molded Leather Backpack

Batman Backpack

Whoever said that backpacks were for nerds obviously hasn’t seen Batman’s molded leather backpack. Okay, so it’s not exactly his, but it’s fashioned after the one that Batman used on the rooftop of a skyscraper in Hong Kong in The Dark Knight. It was also featured in the conclusion to the box office smashing trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises.

The backpack was made by UD Replicas, which is known for creating bike leathers that are based from movie costumes. Hit the break to check out more photos of the most badass backpack you’ll ever see in your life.

So Stupid But So Funny: Batman Replaces Characters in Classic Movie Scenes

Everybody knows Batman. I mean, who wouldn’t recognize him in his black mask with the furrowed brows and pointy ears? When Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy ended last year, fans cried buckets and wished there were more movies to come featuring the caped crusader. And come they will, since a reboot is already in the works.

Until that time comes, though, you’ll have to settle with the countless spoofs and parodies people are making based on the Dark Knight. This particular one we’ve got here shows Batman replacing a host of other characters in some of the most popular classic movies of all time, including Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Home Alone.

3D Printed Bottle Opener Rings: Pop Bottles Open Like a Superhero

Opener Ring

Some of the best things in life are kept sealed inside bottles. These bottle opener rings are 3D printed from stainless steel and feature logos from well-known franchises like BatmanTransformers, and Superman. You can check out the rest of the rings after the break.

TDKR Flash Drive Makes Accessing Your Data Painful for Batman

Dark Knight Rises USB

Batman’s got the brains, the brawn, and the money, so it’s no wonder that he rose to the top of the superhero food chain without actually having any superpowers. Regardless of how you feel for Bruce Wayne and his ethics, you can’t really deny that this Dark Knight Rises Batman flash drive is off the wall and pretty awesome, in more ways than one.

First of all, it doesn’t really look like a flash drive. It looks like a miniature bust of Batman in all his splendor–but take off his head (yes, you have to decapitate Batman every time you access your data) and you’ve got your flash drive right there. Plug the dock into your computer and the bat logo on Batman’s chest lights up. Plug his head in and Batman’s eyes will glow a cool blue. Sounds pretty creepy, but it look’s extremely cool.

The Batarang Twin-Blade Folding Knife Probably Won’t Get Bruce Wayne’s Seal of Approval

Batarang

Everybody loves Batman. I mean, who doesn’t? Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy may have wrapped up last month, but people are still talking about how the movie ended and the future of the franchise, even until now.

Given its huge success, you can expect Batman-inspired stuff to crop up from now until they decide to reboot the entire thing. Stuff like the Batarang. It’s a twin-blade folding knife that features a bat handle. Unfold the blades and you’ve got a knife that will probably cut your hand while you try to use it for something else. In essence, the design looks awesome. When outstretched, the blades look like the bat’s wings, which was probably what they intended to do. However, it makes using the knife a wee bit more complicated.

Of course, you can just use unfold one blade at a time and use it like you would a normal knife. But still. The Batarang looks dangerously silly and will probably cut the palms of those who don’t really know how to use it.
