One-Up Your FPS Foes With This Mouse/Keyboard Combo For the PS4

tactical-assault-commander-4

The PC Master Race will often cite the use of a mouse and keyboard as one of the many reasons it believes itself superior to the hordes of console gamers out there. It’s arguable whether this method is intrinsically superior to gamepads, but it’s nice to have the option.

Hori’s Tactical Assault Commander 4 is a keyboard and mouse setup for PS4 that attempts to mimic a PC control system. The means the DualShock 4’s left analog is mapped to a WASD-style configuration, while the right analog is controlled by a mouse. The rest of the DualShock’s buttons and triggers are mapped to the appropriate spots, and there are a couple of additional functions like programmable buttons, a “snipe mode” that changes mouse sensitivity and a walk button for, we assume, walking rather than running.

Assuming it works as advertised (and isn’t buggy like the Tactical Assault Commander 3 was, 4 years ago), this accessory might be worth the reported $120-$130 asking price. Launch is scheduled for October in Japan and the UK, although when exactly it’ll hit the American market isn’t clear.

– Control your overhead, recessed, can, or track lighting
– Sync ilumi to pulse w/ the beat of your music
– Wake up naturally with a scheduled sunrise effect
– Create, save & replay your favorite lighting scenes
– Program your light to make it look like someone’s always home

This Spiral Staircase Attaches To A Tree

spiral-staircase-people

There are many ways to climb a tree, but very few of them involve comfort or ease. Whether it’s mocking around on a bare trunk, or even using a ladder of any type, you’ll find yourself exerting yourself, potentially above your personal comfort levels. But there’s very little to find difficult about climbing a tree outfitted with the CanopyStair. It’s a set of stairs that attach to a tree trunk via ratchet straps. Install each step one by one, in a spiral pattern, and in less than half an hour you’ll have an easy and simple way to make yourself to the canopy. What you do once you’re there is another matter altogether, but at least the climbing part will be simple. There’s no word on price or availability, but it does seem to be a real product that will be available at some point in the not too distant future.

The DrillBeach Umbrella Digs Into The Sand For You

drillbeach_3

Its not like many people go around complaining about how hard it is to jam a beach umbrella in the sand. But then again, it’s not because something is already easy that it couldn’t be easier. That’s the entire point of technology, isn’t it? In any case, the DrillBeach is an electric beach umbrella that features a corkscrew at the bottom; press a button and it easily digs itself into the sand with barely any effort on your part. Since it’s electric, this means it uses a battery, which you can then use to charge your electronic devices through its integrated USB port.

It’s not a life changing product, to be sure. But if you’re already in the market for a beach umbrella, you might consider dropping the €30, or roughly $32 they’re asking in their Kickstarter. It’s far from being funded, so we’re not sure you’ll ever get a product, but if it does fund, shipping is expected in September.

Wanna See What The Fish Looks Like As He’s About To Eat Your Bait? Now You Can With The GoFish Cam

GoFish-Cam-image-2-672x372

It’s a good time to be an action cam, so much so that manufacturers have started exploring which realms aren’t already ripe for capture. GoPros and the like are great for recording anything that happens to you, but what if you’re really curious to see how your fish react to the bait at the end of your fishing line? The GoFish cam was designed specifically to be attached securely to a fishing line, providing you with 1080p footage of the underwater action. A tough waterproof casing allows it to go down to 150m, and infrared lights make it possible to still see what happens even in low-light conditions. The rest of the features are much like standard actions cams of today, so it’s really that underwater, line-locking ability you’ll be spending $149 for. It’s being Kickstarted at the moment, so you’ll have to wait until March of next year for yours if the fancy takes you.

Looie Lets You Pee In Peace

looie

Nothing is more frustrating than being out, needing to pee, and having nowhere to go. Cops can fine you for public urination, not to mention it’s a little gross to relieve yourself on other people’s property, so we can totally see a place for a service like Looie. It uses a location-aware app as well as a dongle to give you access to the nearest restroom that’s part of its network. Currently about to launch in Tribeca only, the founder guarantees clean facilities every time (going as far as cleaning them himself for now). It’s going to cost you $25 per month for the service, which is money well spent if you’ve found yourself in that unenviable position more often than you’d care to admit. There is no word on expansion outside of Tribeca for now, but we suspect that’s going to be highly dependant on initial demand.

Wearable Hummingbird Feeder Mask

Calling all lovers of birds! A contraption called the ‘Eye to Eye’ is now available so you can get up close and personal with hummingbirds while you feed them. It’s basically a wearable bird feeder that lets you literally come face to beak with the birds as they feed. A miniaturized feeding tube is embedded in the middle of the mask, which means the birds will be in your face while it feeds.

For $80, you’ll get two feeding tubes, two laminated inlays, and one face shield (of course you need one.) Is it worth it? Is it not? That depends on you and on the experience that you’re hoping to get out of it. You can get the ‘Eye to Eye’ mask here.
