For Happy Breakfasts: Crack a Smile Mold

Smile Egg Mold

Not everyone wakes up to greet a new day feeling chipper and full of life. That’s especially true for night owls and for people who just aren’t morning persons. For these people, something that can help or at least add a little cheer is the Crack a Smile egg mold. As the name implies, the mold basically turns scrambled eggs into smiley faces and you probably can’t help but crack a smile when you see a humongous, yellow smiley face on your plate.

If you’re not much of an egg person, then you can use the mold for your pancakes instead.

Cruel Joke: Sinister Ghost Pepper Gummy Bears

Ghost Pepper Gummy Bears

Some practical jokes are funny, while others are just plain mean. These Evil Hot Gummi Bears are somewhere in the middle, although it mostly depends on who you’re pranking and how they take it as well. They look like typical gummy bears, save for the fact that they’re flavored with Naga chili peppers that’ll burn your tongue and set your insides on fire.

Hand them off to unsuspecting victims or chew a couple ones yourself if you’re up to the challenge. The Evil Hot Gummi Bears are available online for £5.99 (about $10.)

Time to Bust Some Ghosts: Ghostbusters Neutrino Wand

Ghostbusters Neutrino

When there’s something strange in the neighborhood, the only people you should call are the Ghostbusters! They were a huge hit in the eighties and the original team are still very much revered by kids and the young-at-heart who grew up following the franchise over the years. The third movie is still in limbo, although we’re definitely keeping our fingers crossed that they work something out.

But why not nab ghouls and catch ghosts Ghostbuster-style with this Neutrino Wand while you wait? It’s inspired by the one Ray, Winston, Egon, and Dr. Peter Venkman used to capture Slimer, Gozer, and a host of other ghosts in the movies. It’s made with great attention to detail, from the blasting button and proton stream switch to the adjuster knob and the sound effects that emanate from the wand upon firing.

The Neutrino Wand prop replica is available for $280.

Chat Off the Grid Without WiFi or Mobile Coverage with FireChat

FireChat

With FireChat, you’ll be able to chat with anyone close to you location-wise, even when there’s no WiFi or when you’re outside the coverage area of your mobile network. It works by making use of the Multipeer Connectivity Framework built into Apple’s iOS 7. Think of it as being a peer-to-peer WiFi-Bluetooth connection of sorts where you’ll be able to send text messages and even images without the usual service or connectivity requirements.

FireChat works best in “Nearby Chat” mode where you have to be within 30 feet of the person you’re chatting with. The app is available for free on iTunes.

The Lean, Mean Weaponized Mecha Machine Smartphone Holder

Mecha Smartphone Holder

Transform your smartphone into the ultimate fighting machine–well, sort of–with the Mecha Machine Smartphone Holder. As the name implies, it’s a contraption that’s designed to hold your phone in the most menacing way possible. The holder might look like it was put together using random screws, hinges, and other spare gear that you can find in a typical tool shed, but we’re willing to bet that making it called for a bit of skill and loads of creativity.

A variety of other holders are available on MechWorld‘s Etsy shop. He’s also got some pretty nifty-looking robot toys and Transformers figures on display.

Eau De Death: Zombie Repellent for the Apocalypse

Eau De Death

Shows like The Walking Dead give a glimpse of the future that could be in the case of a zombie apocalypse. Doesn’t look like a bright future, does it? If you believe the apocalypse is coming, then the first thing you have to do is take measures to make sure that you don’t get bitten. You don’t have to smear yourself with zombie gunk or wear clothes worn by the undead. All you’ll have to do is spritz on Eau De Death and you’ll be fine–in theory, that is.

Eau De Death was thought up by chemist Raychelle Burks. It essentially smells like rotting corpses, so this will not only ward of the dead but scare off the living as well. It’s essentially a mix of chemicals that the body naturally produces during decomposition: putrescine and cadaverine. A few drops of methanethiol are added into the mix to give it that nice rotting egg scent.

TMNT Trailer Gives Rise to the Michaelangelo Meme

TMNT Meme

Michael Bay is at the helm of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie reboot and he’s caused a lot of buzz with the direction that he’s chosen to go with the franchise. Some die-hard fans were ticked off at Bay’s need to tweak the turtles’ origins, but they didn’t have difficulty finding humor in their appearance. Specifically, that of Michaelangelo.

The first trailer for TNMT was released recently and what stood out the most to some was Michaelangelo’s odd appearance. Mainly, the fact that he looks like a cross between Shrek and Lizard from the Amazing Spider-Man. This gave rise to a new meme that has since taken off: the Michaelangelo. Hit the break to check out more!
