I keep telling people that there’s more to food than the way it tastes. I just can’t enjoy a burger (no matter how delicious) that falls apart in my hands. I guess maybe I’m funny that way. Am I alone? Anyway, that’s why I think the pizza cone is the best thing since sliced bread.

As I’m sure you can tell from the picture, a pizza cone, is, well, pizza dough shaped into a cone and filled with your usual arterial cloggers. Two companies are working on this: “Konopizza” and “Crispy Cones”.

The latter is not yet operational, but will open a store in LA this fall, while the former is already peddling this stuff in places such as Indonesia, Kuwait, Spain, Greece, and New Zealand.

  1. Marie: You live here? Oh, it’s nice. Did you decorate it?
Navin: Yeah, I got all this stuff from the old Cup ‘o Pizza place before they tore it down.
Marie: Good pizza. (the two of them are eating pizza in a cup)
Navin: Oh, this is the best pizza in a cup ever. This guy is unbelievable. He ran the old Cup ‘o Pizza guy out of business. People come from all over to eat this.

  2. I had konopizza when i was in rome. not really a great decision. it made me throw up. or it was the non-potable water i drank out of several fountains.

  3. Eating this stuff is not healty.
And for my co-citizen who opened it in Rome, I can just think of some form of torture for him…
And, by the way, the water from fountains in Rome IS potable… or maybe someone here is too used to evian…

  4. i think pizza in a cone looks delicious. I would love to try it one day. For all of you who say that it is nasty you guys are not right at all. Something is really wrong with you all. Pizza in a cone is magically delicious. ALL HAIL PIZZA IN A CONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Pizza cones sound like a great idea- but they just do not work out. Larry Goldberg, formerly of Goldbergs Pizza in NYC worked for years on developing a decent pizza cone, and never was able to get one to work. If he couldn’t do it, I doubt anyone can.
