Deal Of The Day: 20% Off On TrackR Tracking Sticker

redesign_trackr_mf

The TrackR sticker is a coin-sized Bluetooth-enabled device that sticks to any item you wish to keep track of. Just stick it on, and when you can’t find it anymore, launch the app on your smartphone and locate it in an instant. It’ll tell you the distance to your object, and at the press of a button, you can toggle an audible alarm on the sticker. It’s actually a two-way relationship, so if you’ve lost your phone but have the TrackR device in hand, you can press it to have your phone ring, even if it’s set to silent. Of course the tech requires you to be within Bluetooth range, but not necessarily your own; if another TrackR user passes within range and you’ve declared your item lost in your own app, you’ll get a notification of its whereabouts. You can pair up to 10 such stickers and track just about any item of value. Normally, you’d pay $25 for one sticker, but you can get it for $20 today.

Where’s Your Favorite Book? Right Here, In Your Bibliochaise Of Course

bibliochaise_ss-960x350

The Bibliochaise is a creation of Nobody & Company, an Italian design firm. It’s made from “materials adapted from high performance yacht technologies”, which sounds like it’s going to be expensive. The chaise is able to hold up to 300 books, while giving your living quarters a decidedly artsy/academic aura.

And while it does sound expensive, we don’t actually know how much it is.

Peek-I iPhone Camera Attachment Lets You Take Sneaky Shots

peek-i-640x448

We’re not sure how to feel about this product. It’s a tiny pivoting mirror that attaches to your iPhone’s camera and allows you to capture a shot of something that’s not directly in front of you. It pivots 360 degrees, but opens at a 45 degree angle, which means you’re limited to capturing something that’s exactly to the side of the phone’s plane: straight up, down, or sideways.

Now, you could make a case that there may be situations where you want to capture someone candidly, and that having a camera pointed at your subject may well draw their attention and cause them to lose whatever pose interested you in the first place. That’s the artistic argument. But then you have the creeps… So the question is, do you judge a product negatively because it has the potential to be abused? We’re leaning on the “no” side, which is why we’re telling you about Peek-I. It’s a cool device, as long as you don’t use it stupidly.

It’ll set you back all of $15 on their very well funded Indiegogo campaign.

This iPhone Case Will Light Your Cigarete

Screen Shot 2014-04-29 at 3.30.29 PM

There are iPhone cases for just about any function, and you can now add ‘cigarette lighter’ to that list. The Supernova iPhone Case contains a heating element that gets hot enough to get your cancer stick going… and that’s all it does. The advantages is that none of your friends will steal it, the way that lighters tend to get “misplaced” once they’ve been lent out. It’s rechargeable through MicroUSB, just like most gadgets out on the market today.

Gibson Memory Cable Will Capture Your Jams For Posterity

gibson_memory_cable

Ever been screwing around with a guitar, pumping out some jams for the heck of it, and realize that last couple of licks were genius? But then you have no idea what you did and they’re gone forever? Yeah, never happened to us because we don’t play guitar, but it’s a plausible scenario that makes the Gibson Memory Cable a really interesting product for any serious guitarists out there. It’s integrated directly into the cable, and records everything you play for up to 13 hours, directly to an SD card. Think of it as an audio dashcam. It’ll be available May 15th for an undisclosed sum.

TravelMate: All the Cutlery You Need In a Neat Package

TravelMate

Eating takeout using the flimsy plastic spoon and fork that most restaurants hand out sucks, especially if they break or show signs of bending the moment you scoop or try to slice up some grub. Cutlery sets are on-the-go dining are readily available, and one particularly eye-catching and practice option is the TravelMate.

It comes with a detachable fork and a 4.87-inch blade knife with a Paperstone handle. The fork is a multi-tool in itself as well, since it’s also a bottle opener, can opener, flathead screwdriver, and grill scraper. Cut meat, slice veggies, spread butter, turn stuff over on the grill–it seems like there’s little the TravelMate can’t do.

It’s priced at ~$50.

GuitDoorbell Is More Of A Door Chime Than A Doorbell

guitar-doorbell

We usually think of a doorbell as something that alerts people on the inside that there may be visitors wanting to enter on the outside. This GuitDoorbell makes a strumming sound when the door is actually opened, which alerts people on the inside that someone already entered. That makes this product’s name a bit of a misnomer, though we suspect that GuitDoorChime (or whatever) may have sounded stupid to the products creators. Whatever gripes we may have about the name, the product is kind of cool; set the guitar to play any chord, and each time anyone enters it’ll play it. We think it naturally belongs in a music store, sure, but we can picture this in any home without stretching our imagination too much. It’ll cost you $150, and comes in two colours.
