High Tech Bling: Video Earrings with 2.2-Inch Screens

Video Earrings

Earrings. People wear them to make a statement or to complete their outfits. Others purposely choose wacky pairs to grab people’s attentions, while others design their own to show off their creativity and individuality.

Adding yet another reason why people wear earrings is the team at MJ Mclaren with their Video Earrings. These high-tech accessories incorporate a 2.2-inch screen that can stream media and display slideshows. The earrings can be charged and loaded with files via USB.

Unreal Beauty: Uniface Mask Gives You a New Face…Sort Of

Uniface mask

Now you can alter your appearance without having to go under the knife by slapping one of these Uniface Masks on your face. They look hyper-realistic and will give you features that you’ve always wanted to have without plastic surgery. The big catch is that you’ll end up looking like a creepy human doll with too-perfect anime-like features.

The Uniface Masks are ready-to-wear, glue-on faces with flawless skin, arched eyebrows, and glossy heart-shaped lips. They’re described as bearing a “dream-fulfilling face that satisfies today’s beauty standards.” These so-called standards are up for debate, but the site explains that the mask’s “giant anime eyes, long lashes, a high nose bridge, and narrow chin and cheeks are all in one product for a lifetime’s worth of confidence.”Continue Reading

The Pavlov Poke Gives You an Electric Shock If You Spend Too Much Time on Facebook

Pavlov Poke

How many hours do you spend on the Internet a day? I think it’s safe to say that you’ve got a problem–or more like an addiction, really–if it’s more than half the total time you’re awake. Why spend your time cooped up indoors, looking at pictures of people doing all sorts of fun things that you could otherwise be doing?

With this in mind, MIT PhD students Robert Morris and Dan McDuff came up with the Pavlov Poke.

Shower Head Prompts People to Take Shorter Showers, Saves Water

Uji Shower

How long is a typical shower for you? Seven minutes is apparently ideal. At least, that’s the figure that Uji’s inventors are working with. But first thing’s first, what’s Uzi? It’s a shower head with a built-in lighting system. The light turns from green to red in a span of seven minutes, which basically signals the person bathing to wrap things up (and wrap himself or herself in a towel!)

Check Out this Artist’s Tattoo That’s Only Visible Every Other Time

The thing about tattoos is that they’re permanent. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what some relationships, obsessions, and couplings are not. How many times have you read (and laughed) at stories of people who went and got tattoos of their significant others’ names or faces, only to cover these up or remove them when the relationship has come to an end? There are many other reasons why some people would opt to have their ink removed. However, this isn’t an issue at all for artist Anthony Antonellis and his digital tattoo.

Facebook Bouncer? This Pub Won’t Let You In If You’re Not a Facebook Friend

Finnegan Pub Facebook

Talk about bring picky with potential customers. In most cases, it sounds pretty silly, but Tony Mannor, the owner of Finnegan’s Irish Pub, has a pretty good reason for being more selective with his clientele. He was apparently tired of having to deal with unwanted customers who messed up the mood in his bar and his interior decor. Instead of hiring more bouncers, he decided to add another requirement before patrons could enter his pub after 9PM: they have to be a friend of the bar’s Facebook account in order to gain admission.

Safe Cut Surgical Glove

I’m sure you’ve worn gloves several times in your lifetime. Wearing them is fine, but trying to take them off can sometimes turn into a pretty annoying task. This is especially true when you have sweaty hands and the rubber is sticking all over the insides of your palms, and you’re just flailing around trying to get them off and they just stubbornly stay put.

The solution? The Safe Cut Surgical Glove, which features simple addition to the design that makes a world of difference. Continue Reading

Ready for a Lifetime of Adventures? ‘Adventure Time’ Jake’s Face Engagement Ring

Adventure Time Engagement Ring

This is an engagement ring featuring Jake the dog from Adventure Time and it’s just awesome in every sense of the word.

Comic book artist Josh Adams, who’s behind Batman Odyssey and the ongoing Doctor Who series, decided that it was time to propose to his girlfriend Saori Tsujimoto. He decided to go the geeky route and had a ring customized featuring Jake’s signature grin. His eyes have that mischievous glint and they’re shining like diamonds because two big rocks have been set in Jake’s eye sockets.

Finally? A Scientific Formula for the Perfect Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Grilled CHeese

Think you’ve managed to perfect making a grilled cheese sandwich? Think again. The British Cheese Board and the Royal Society of Chemists worked hand in hand to come up with a recipe for what they claim is the perfect grilled cheese sandwich. If their recipe leads to the fine creation pictured above, then I’m all ears because even the photo of the sandwich is making me drool.

The society’s science executive Ruth Neale explained: “We found that the perfect slice can be made by melting 50 grams (1.8 ounces) of sliced hard cheese, such as cheddar, on a slice of white bread, 10 millimeters (.39 inches) thick, under the grill. The cheese on toast should sit at a distance of 18 centimeters (7 inches) from the heat source — which in our grill was at a temperature of 115 degrees Celsius (239 degrees Fahrenheit) — and needs to cook for four minutes to achieve the perfect consistency and taste.”Continue Reading
