Qualy Flowerpot and Squirrel

Plants… Better keep those away from us. Caring for anything that’s unable to come and nag for its food is a recipe for disaster round these parts. Yet, we’re still suckers for good design, and the Qualy Flowerpot and Squirrel is just the kind of thing we’re sure could brighten someone’s day right up. It’s a self-watering flowerpot with a water container within, which then supplies it to the soil through a cord inside the pot.

Both the squirrel and the plant are dependent on your love and care. And, when you pour water through the knothole, the tiny squirrel will appear in its peephole and will show that the plant has enough water. As the water level decreases, you will see less and less of the tiny squirrel. If you only see its big, round eyes, then the squirrel and plant are awfully thirsty and it´s high time to water again.

It’s roughly $35 (€26).

Official TARDIS Computer Case Can Store a Gazillion Terabytes

TARDIS Tower

Okay, so I lied. These TARDIS computer cases obviously can’t store a gazillion terabytes of data (how big is a gazillion anyway?) But if it really were the Doctor’s, then I bet it could store as much data as he’d want to cram into it.

This TARDIS Computer Case is an officially-licensed product by retailer Scan. You can configure the systems based on your preferences, but the base starts at £936 (around $1,511) for an Intel Pentium 3.1GHz Dual Core processor with 8GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive.

You could get more bang from your buck somewhere else, but it won’t look as good as this case right here. Check out it’s product page for more information and more options.

Titanium Entry Card Is Cool, Easily Abused

The country is having a conversation about tools that can be used to do bad things. And while a set of lockpicking tools doesn’t quite compare to the gun debate, the idea is that in irresponsible hands, the Titanium Entry Card could be seen to promote illegal activity. But there may be situations where you actually do need to pick a lock, legally. Like when you lock yourself out, which does happen more than anyone cares to admit. Should this happen to you, this 0.032in., wallet-sized, aircraft-grade Titanium card contains two identical sets of tools that will get you back inside in no time. Two sets because, well, once you snap one set out, it’s kind of impossible to carry it with the same convenience. “With each card, you’ll have two tension (torsion) wrenches and two sets of bogota tools (triple and single hump) perfect for raking or single-pin picking. You’ll also receive a durable Tyvek sleeve for protection.” It’s $50.

Killspencer Card Carrier Is Slick

Guys, let’s face it: thick wallets are out. This much we’ve said before, and we’ll be happy to say it again. That’s why we’re always on the lookout for gear like the Killspencer Card Carrier, above. It turns your iPhone 5 into a barebones, essentials-only, card carrier. Fitting only 4 cards (1 license, 2 credit cards, and 1 debit card), the carrier adds very little width to your phone, and does so with class.

[It is made] of Natural Oil-Tanned Leather and Macassar Ebony Wood, and is lined with the finest Italian-made Alcantara® Suede Endoskeleton, with a thumb port cut for easy access.

It sticks to the back of the phone with an adhesive, and can be easily removed. It’s elegant, efficient, and we really like it, but is obviously reserved for those of us who have the courage to leave home with the bare essentials. If that’s your thing, you’ll have to part with $69 to own one.

I’m Dreaming of a Green Christmas: ecoChici Reusable Fabric Gift Wrap

ecoChici

Every year, hundreds of millions of presents are packaged in giftwrap or presented in exquisite gift bags to the recipients. And each year, the world’s landfills just keep getting fuller and fuller.

While the ecoChici Reusable Fabric Gift Wrap is, by far, not the solution of all solutions to get rid of all this seasonal waste, it presents a fun and quirky alternative. ecoChici was thought up by graphic designer Amy Lewis, and she was able to come up with the reusable fabric gift wrap kits with the help of her husband.

The Ballerina’s Espresso Cup

We say it’s the ballerina’s espresso cup because we like stereotypes. We don’t necessarily believe in them, but how else are we to relate to our broader culture if not with shared references, which often take the form of potentially inaccurate beliefs? So we like to think that ballerinas subsist on a diet of coffee and cigarettes and nothing else. We know they don’t, but you know… The Solo e Sola is a 3D printed, glazed ceramic cup that presents a container for each. And while North America is awkwardly trying to hop onto a health-conscious train, you’re free to stubbornly stay right off and consume to your heart’s content. Each cup is available from Shapeways for the tidy, tidy sum of $59.

iOS 6 Sees 29% Surge After The Release Of Google Maps

It was just last week that we were reporting on the return of Google Maps to the Apple App Store. In the article, we mentioned that a lot of people were still living with iOS 5 because of the absence of Google’s mapping solution on iOS 6. But few people had idea idea just how many people were in that boat! According to research by mobile ad company MoPub, in the five days following the release of the application, they saw a 29% increase in iOS 6 users, which they attribute to Google’s Maps being available again.

This is not entirely surprising: it was reported earlier that Google Maps was downloaded 10 million times in the first 48 hours. This is, we suspect, much to Apple’s chagrin.

So Uh… Don’t Microwave A Cellphone

So this is as old as the world (as can be seen from the top notch brick cellphone in question) but still kind of fun to watch. Yeah… don’t put cellphones in a microwave.

Kthnksbye.

Kuwaete Sukkiri Tongue Exerciser Gets Rid of Sagging Cheeks? Yeah, Right!

Kuwaete Sukkiri Tongue Exerciser

Do you exercise your tongue? Before you answer ‘no’, you might want to reconsider if you’ve ever French-kissed with someone. Aside from that, I can only think of a handful of other things that people can do to exercise their tongues, although I doubt they do these things explicitly for that reason.

As you might already know, the tongue is the strongest muscle in the human body. Not that it really needs it–but if you want to, then you can actually exercise it with the Kuwaete Sukkiri Tongue Exerciser.
