Ductpan Is Smart, Can’t Be Bought

By David Ponce

It’s sad that very often the best ideas just end up as concepts or prototypes and can’t be bought. At least, it looks that way for the Ductpan (a dustpan with a duct…) from designer Kawamura Ganjavian. The concept has been floating around the interwebs for some time and we think it’s time that someone actually make this a reality. With social funding sites like Kickstarter, it shouldn’t be so hard.

It’s not really a good idea. Think about it – after you use a dustpan and brush, what angle do you usually hold it – especially if the items are light or bulky? This is certainly a case of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’

Also, where can you clip the brush to the pan?

    Just sayin…

I actually had a dust pan very similar to this, a while back and I agree with John G., it’s really not a good design.  It’d be great if you kept your trash can up high as it’s pictured above, but if you keep your trash can on the floor like a normal person a regular dust pan is still a better option.
