Using a 2.4GHz signal this wireless adapter set from Thanko lets you connect your guitar to your amp without being tied down by an unsightly cable. The transmitter and receiver plug into the 1/8th 1/4 inch jacks on the ax and the amp, giving you about a 66 foot range indoors, and about a 98 foot range outdoors. They both charge via a miniUSB port located on the side, and on a single 2 hour charge you should be able to rock out for about 3 to 6 hours. Get it from Geek Stuff 4 U for about $218. (¥19,990)
How many times have you rushed out the door, only to figure out that it’s not quite as warm/cold as you’d expected it to be? I’m guilty of doing that all too often. It’s even worse when your car is in a garage, as you don’t realize that you should have grabbed a jacket until you’ve already arrived at your destination. Sometimes I remember to check the weather on my iPhone (or actually step outside for a moment) before leaving, but that’s just one more thing to do when I’m in a hurry. Instead, wouldn’t it be nice for your coat rack to tell you just how warm it is outside?
There isn’t a lot of information on this concept, but the Online Coat Rack was created to tell you what you need to wear outside. It features 5 hooks, which you would place different jackets (and even an umbrella) on. The device would be hooked up to the internet so that it can grab the latest weather report. A simple orange bar moves from side to side, staying over the article of clothing you’re most likely going to need. I wouldn’t mind seeing this concept turned into a reality, especially since it does seem to be something that could be made rather easily.
I still think the SoundRacer is the coolest replacement for your car’s cigarette lighter, but if you’d rather swap in something more practical, you can’t go wrong with this Micro USB Charger. It basically gives you a USB port that can be used to charge cellphones or MP3 players, and with a design that sits flush enough to look like it blends into your car’s interior, a glowing blue ‘X’ so it can easily be located in the dark and a price tag of just $24, I’m hard pressed to find any reason why a non-smoker wouldn’t immediately want one for their own vehicle.
When warm weather rolls around my addiction to frozen treats is rekindled, particularly Freezies, but the 6-year-old inside of me still hates having to wait for them to actually freeze before I can enjoy them. But that’s the one place where the Quick Pop Maker from Zoku shines, since it can turn any delicious concoction you fill it with into a frozen treat in as little as 7 minutes. Now unfortunately the pop maker has to spend about 24 hours in your freezer before its first use to work as claimed, but after that there should be minimal turnaround in turning your culinary experiments into frozen pops.
Parents will probably like it because they can control what’s going into each pop, and even add party crashers like actual pieces of fruit, but the rest of us will enjoy spending the Summer trying to push the limits of what can be blended, frozen and enjoyed on a plastic stick. The whole kit, which comes with everything you’ll need to create 3 pops at a time, minus the ingredients, is available from Williams-Sonoma for $49.95, and while that’s definitely more expensive than dixie cups and popsicle sticks, just remember your homebrew method won’t be producing delicious results in less than 10 minutes.
I’m afraid I don’t know much about this amazing mechanical clock which is apparently located outside the C.C. Lemon Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo, except that I would probably spend an entire day watching it do its thing.
How many of you wanted to grow up to be a Ghostbuster? I can say that I spent many a day wandering around with a plastic proton pack, looking for ghosts to bust. As an adult I still enjoy the classic flick, and last year’s game helped renew interest in it, which is probably why I find this Ghostbusters backpack to be particularly awesome.
80sTees has gotten the license to sell these nifty backpacks which depict the classic proton pack worn by the Ghostbusters. The detachable pouch with gun piece was a nice touch. These will be on sale sometime in the near future for $40.
If you’re the type of parent who documents all the minutia of their new arrival’s daily routines, you might want to make things easier on yourself with this Day to Night Baby Log from Skip Hop. Instead of trying to make sense of random notes jotted down on verious scraps of paper, the log features dedicated sections to document daily feedings, changing times and sleep schedules for a 6-month period.
But what sets the Day To Night book apart from other logs, and partly justifies its $39 price tag, is the illuminated ‘Time Capsule’ found in the book’s spine. It’s got four diffused LED lights to illuminate the pages, making it easier to jot notes at night without waking up the little one, and a backlit LCD clock and timer so you always know what time it is, or how long that nap should last. Experienced parents will probably think it’s a little overkill, but new moms and dads might find a bit of extra peace of mind by keeping track of all this information.
You won’t have the Foot Clan to back you up while wearing this Oroku Saki, aka Shredder, themed hoodie, but from what I remember from the cartoons and live-action movies, that might actually be a good thing. The hoodie comes complete with plush spikes sticking out of the arms and shoulders just like Shredder’s armor had, only safer, and a zip-up half-mask and hood that only leaves your steely gaze visible. Perfect for conventions, cosplay, robberies and random muggings. Available from 80sTees.com for $60.
I won’t even keep a glass of water on my bedside table for fear of it accidentally getting spilled during the night, so the idea of having a boiling pot of water a foot away from my bed in the morning kind of scares me. Even if you really enjoy tea for breakfast, is this bedside Teasmade alarm clock really worth the risk? Like timer equipped coffee makers, the Teasmade will brew about 600ml of tea in a small ceramic pot just prior to the alarm going off (as long as you remember to fill it with water and tea bags the night before) so you always wake up to a fresh pot. But unlike timer equipped coffee makers, which are designed to be used in the kitchen, this thing has the potential to do some serious morning harm if you’re not the type to wake up with all of your senses intact.
It’s available from MenKind for about $88 (£59.99) and if you have to have one, please use it responsibly, as third degree burns are no way to start your day.
