Sure it claims to keep your iPhone fully charged and playing movies for an entire trans-Atlantic flight, but that extra battery life promised by this dock comes at the cost of your phone’s pocket-friendly dimensions. And in addition to the large rechargeable battery which takes four hours to juice up, this circular dock also features a set of 1/2-watt speakers for disturbing those around you on your flight, and a collapsible stand in the back for propping it up on a tray table. You can still make and receive calls while the iPhone is mounted inside, but you’ll have to use the speakerphone option or a bluetooth headset if for some reason you think holding this against your head is inconvenient. $129.95 from Hammacher Schlemmer.

Another great contest comes to a close. With that, a winner must be announced. I’m happy to say that Gingervitis was randomly selected, and he will be receiving his very own Ultra X4 850W Power Supply. Congratulations!

I have to give the designers at MUJI credit since I don’t think I’d have ever thought about using LEGO in such a unique way as this. The two companies have created a small collection of new LEGO sets that not only come with a set of trendy colored LEGO blocks, but also a special LEGO-stud-sized hole punch allowing you to combine the blocks with paper in unique and totally original ways. The sets will be available in Japan on November 27th, but unfortunately there’s been no news regarding whether they’ll ever be available in Europe or the U.S.

If someone had just told me you could knit your own Pikachu ski mask, I would have thought it was a cute idea for little kids hitting the bunny slope. And while I have to give deviantART member Sugarcoatidli3z credit for creating this adult version without a pattern, I’m afraid the results are bit too unnerving for me. In fact it looks like Pikachu is ready to exact some revenge for all those hours he’s spent crammed into a Pokeball.

What’s the point of having an external drive for backing up your files if it’s prone to data loss after a tiny fall off your desk or a tumble down a flight of stairs? The PQI H560 is another shock proof hard drive in a long line of rugged data storage solutions designed to protect your files no matter how clumsy you are. Available in 320, 500 and 640GB capacities, the drive features a special rubber material used for the housing as well as shock-absorption suspension technology on the inside allowing it to pass the U.S. Military’s MIL-STD-810F 516.5 procedure IV transit drop test. It’s also got a built in USB cable, a SATA interface if you prefer to connect that way, and a dedicated one-touch backup button.

If you have trouble with communication in your family, sometimes you have to get creative. Sure, in this age of cell phones and text messaging, it’s easy to send someone a reminder. However, Making sure they are told something at the right time is an important factor. Lets say you want someone to get your message as soon as they walk into the house. This Parrot Digital Messaging Switch Plate can help with that very thing.
The device is simple enough, allowing you to record a 20-second message which will be played back when the switch is turned on. I can see this as something parents might use to remind their children of chores when they get home from school. It’s only $9.99 and installs in the same manner as any other switch plate (it gets power from 4x AAA batteries).

This thing? This thing scares me. This is a problem, since it’s supposed to be relieving stress as opposed to causing stress. Seriously. It’s a stress relieving device that looks suspiciously like the mouth of a lamprey, which, in case you didn’t know, is a fish that bores into your flesh and sucks your blood out. The Headtime scalp massager features 29 silicon balls, 34 ceramic balls, LED lighting, temperature control, and an internal speaker system that plays soothing nature sounds. You wear it on your head like a hat and pretend that it doesn’t make you look like this guy:

“Hey honey, look at me and my new hat! I’ve got 63 balls massaging my scalp right now!” “Take that thing off and kill it with fire before I jam this toothbrush into your eye socket, you stupid idiot.”
No word on price or availability, and here’s hoping it stays that way.

If that magical coffee cup we posted about a couple weeks ago isn’t getting commercialized fast enough for you, here’s something that could take its place (at least until the future gets here) and throws in an extra feature to boot. It’s a USB powered drink warmer that also includes a drink mixer, and shockingly for a product from Brando, it’s not embarrassingly tacky looking.
The rechargeable warmer will keep your drink of choice at a toasty 40 degrees Celsius (that’s about 104 degrees Fahrenheit for you heathens), and a touch of a button starts a little stirry thing going that looks powerful enough to mix cream in coffee but not powerful enough to make a Margarita. You can pre-order the “USB Whirl Wind Warmer Cup” for 37 bucks, and it should get to you by mid December, which is plenty of time for you to try it, decide that it sucks, and then give it to someone at work you don’t like very much.

Let’s get something straight here. As far as I can tell these watches from Jean Charles de Castelbajac are not an officially licensed LEGO product, but they absolutely should be. LEGO has dabbled in watches in the past, but their efforts have produced mostly analog styles that I wouldn’t touch with a 10-stud LEGO brick. But I’d actually consider wearing these 2 designs which feature a “classic Casio watch shape” with bright LEGO brick inspired primary colors. The ‘studded’ wrist strap is also a clever touch, though I’m pretty sure you can’t attach an actual LEGO brick to it. According to Babyology the watches should be available by the end of the year, though pricing details are unknown.
