There are a few places where they have a system like this. I one place, it's just a digital number counting down besides the traffic light. In another, it was a colored series of lines ticking down pixel by pixel. The latter design was flawed because it failed to take into account red-green color blindness.<br><br>However, I like the concept. It's stylish and easy enough to understand. I live in China. They stay red for literally 5 minutes, even if there's no traffic in the other direction. A countdown would be cool, but not really helpful in keeping the traffic to a minimum.
