USB Pet Rock – A Lot Like The Original Pet Rock, But With More USB

By Andrew Liszewski

I have my doubts this modern take on the Pet Rock will be as quite a phenomenon as the original Pet Rock from the 70’s was, but if you’re looking for a cheap gift for that geek in your life, you don’t need to look any further. Available from ThinkGeek for just $9.99, every USB Pet Rock is unique in terms of shape and color, and you never have to install any special software or drivers to use it. You just take it out of the box, plug it into a USB port and let it do its thing. Now what exactly that thing is is up to your imagination, but really, the possibilities are endless.

Uh oh, don't let the original rocks see the usb rocks. The resulting jealousy and subsequent rock civil war would destroy the world.

I do think it should have some memory capacity. That way it isn't too useless. I mean it can still be funny and cute like always but this way it's not just taking up a port, to take up a port.

Jess, uselessness is the whole idea.

By the way, I didn't know you were so smokin hot. You should have put your picture up sooner.

I'd hack it into a flash drive. If I felt the need for a USB pet rock.
    Which I don't.

I once had a pet rock and when I held it up to the sun (Western setting sun only) it would keep me from going blind. But only if I put it directly into my eye socket like Colonel Klink's monocle.

Note: Always close your eye before jamming a stone into it. This will save a trip to the hospital with pupil raspberries, trust me.
