And then if the phone you have allows data tethering you can even use it as a portable modem for a laptop or something as well. Maybe I'll revisit this issue later. But for reals I do agree that there are quite a few devices that you can already to most of what you need on the road, but I do see that for families taking long trips something of this sort but portable, like the things offered by Sprint, VW, and AT&T would be more beneficial.
