XShot iPhone Case With Built-in Tripod Adapter

From the people who brought you the XShot Camera Extender, the pole that makes it easier to snap self portraits from a distance, comes the XShot iPhone case.

Made from durable “chrome plastic” the XShot is designed to fit the iPhone 3G & 3GS and features a 1/4″ screw tripod mount located in the lower left corner which allows you to mount it to basically any tripod on the market, including (surprise, surprise) the XShot Camera Extender! Of course if you’re trying to grab a self-shot that way you’ll also need to find a third-party camera app that includes a timer, since you won’t be able to push the iPhone’s camera button when it’s perched 3 or 4 feet away from you.

The XShot iPhone Case isn’t available just yet, but you can pre-order from the company’s site for $29.95 if you’re already convinced it’s a must-have.

Hmm the term “chrome plastic” does not read as quality to me. and it looks like it would be a little bulky.

Why bother making your iphone more like a camera then a phone when it's only a couple mega-pixels? Save the money from buying an adapter and invest in a real camera.

  • Big D

I would call it just a tripod adapter more then a case. I could never see anyone taking their iPhone out of their pocket with that thing attached to it.

  • acetheI

Wow. You didn't write “I love my iPhone, but…”.

  • Zach de Graaff

This isn't worth it to me. Get a regular camera and take pictures of good quality. One thing i dont like about the iphone, so i still use my old sony ericsson camera phone that actually has a flash in it

  • baggyklown

    looks pretty useless

  • s.leep

Hey, I could also use this to set up my iPod touch as my home theatre.

  • cirez

I think the biggest issue is that the iphone is no longer smooth and easy to handle with that thing attached to it.

  • Gingervitis

This thing looks bulky, crappy, and is made from “chrome plastic.” I'd rather put my $30 towards shaky pictures of strippers, than of stable pictures of puppies or whatever I'm supposed to need an iPhone tripod for.

This is exactly what the iphone needs to be honest – some way of getting it onto a tripod!
