I am a big fan of PC shooters and my favorite all time shooter was Crysis from Crytek. I was almost as giddy as a schoolgirl when I heard they were launching Crysis Warhead. Warhead had great graphics, but the story line wasn’t quite as good as the original.
EA and Crytek announced that they are offering a free trial of the multiplayer shooter Crysis Wars available through Friday April 17. The trial allows players to play all of the games three multiplayer modes and all 23 maps.
Obviously, this guy needs a Kindle. I just wonder what kind of internet they get up there; for about $130 billion, it had better be something decent. I also wonder what else he’s got on that laptop…
If you’d like to see the rest of the tour, catch parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 on NasaTV @ YouTube.
Also, if you haven’t seen a shuttle launch from the point of view of a camera mounted on the outside of one of the booster rockets, check it out after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
I mean think about it, no matter how clever you think you are, you’re eventually going to get caught for your heinous deeds. And when the police finally you bring you in, there’s the mug shots, the paparazzi waiting outside, and countless other times when you’re going to get photographed. The last time I checked (and I check quite often) there’s no law against looking good in a mug shot, so instead of choosing a standard bowie knife, you might want to opt for a Combmando instead. They’re made of acrylic, so they’re lightweight and stylish, and you can apparently actually order one from studiobo for just $17.
P.S. They’re probably also another thing you can file under ‘items you don’t want to stick in your carry-on luggage.’
Anyone who’s watched Mythbusters enough knows the damage a shotgun can cause. But imagine combining that firepower with the ‘benefits’ of a machine gun. What you’d end up with is the Atchisson Assault Shotgun, or the AA-12 for short, which is capable of firing up to 5 12-gauge shotgun shells per second. The gun was originally designed by Maxwell Atchisson way back in 1972, but in 1987 he sold the rights to a company called Military Police Systems who spent 18 years improving and perfecting the original design.
Not only can the AA-12 cause serious amounts of damage in a small amount of time, but thanks to a proprietary gas system there’s little to no recoil, which means the weapon can actually be fired with one hand if you’ve got the muscle. It’s also made from aerospace-grade stainless steel which means there’s minimal cleaning and it actually self-lubricates with the carbon produced by a shell firing. Future Weapons had a chance to try out the AA-12, and you’ll find a clip from that episode after the jump.
I can think of few devices that have spawned quite as many accessories as the iPod. Seriously, I could devote my entire life to talking about nothing more than iPod stuff, and I’d still only scratch the surface. Since I like a bit of variety in my life, I won’t be bringing you new iPod accessories every single day, but I do have a couple of docks that I recently got in for review. Today I’ll share my thoughts of the iPanda. Those with an eagle-eye and a keen memory might recall it’s big brother, the iPig, which Evan saw at CES earlier this year.
Cute isn’t a word that I generally use to describe my tech toys. Unfortunately after spending several hours consulting a thesaurus and an English professor, I was unable to find a better word to describe the iPanda. Yes my friends, it is cute. Okay, so it’s got enough appeal to grab you when you’re walking down the isle, but when you finally get it home and plug in your iPod, will your feelings change? Read on for my thoughts.
Ladies, have you ever received a piece of jewelery that looked a little too good to be true? Sure, your boyfriend/fiancé/husband means well, but how can you be sure that it’s the real deal? My advice is to just believe he saved up the money for such a wonderful gift. But if you’re dead set on finding out the truth, here’s a little gadget that will help you out.
This little DiamondNite Diamond Moissanite Tester can spot a fake diamond in just 1.5 seconds. Ladies, this will make the perfect conversation at your next big party. Just slip it in your purse, and offer to test your friends’ rings, necklaces and earrings. Just make sure you’re wearing the real stuff, or risk the embarrassment when it gets turned on you. Of course the $200 price means that you’ll really only want to get this if you’re in the business of buying and selling rocks.
Skateboarding has never been my thing. I remember buying one when I was a kid and spending a couple of weeks trying to ride it. Then I realized that I could go faster with less effort on my bike and promptly forgot about it. The next time I buy anything that remotely resembles a skateboard is either when someone actually makes a hoverbaord a la Back to the Future or when this Scarpar Powerboard comes out.
This awesome motorized skateboard can do everything its non-motorized counterpart can’t. In addition to scooting along by itself on the pavement, it’ll go off-road on dirt, grass, sand and even snow. Take that, crappy skateboard. Sure, it doesn’t look like it has a great turn radius, or that it goes very fast, oh and you can’t do tricks either. Still, if this thing weren’t still in development, I’d buy one.
The Nintendo Wii makes for a much more involved video game experience than competing consoles. Some games like boxing are as much of a workout as Wii Fit. The popularity of the console for people looking for a fun exercise platform is undeniable with the Wii fit game being at the top of many sales charts.
For Wii Fit fanatics looking to get more from their workouts a new product will be shipping soon called the Riiflex dumbbells. The dumbbells are cut out to hold the Wii remote and nunchuck while you play games.
When I was at CES this year one of the cool things that I saw was the NVIDIA Ion platform demo at the NVIDIA booth. The little machine looked to be the perfect HTPC with a tiny form factor that would fit inside my cramped entertainment center.
I wondered why we didn’t see machines at CES actually using the Ion platform and I was starting to think we might not see any. Acer has now unveiled the first Ion machine called the AspireRevo. Acer says the computer is no larger than your typical hardcover book and is a fully capable computer with advanced graphics and multimedia features.
