I wonder how many of the people who downloaded Spore later went out and bought a legit copy of the game since some people like to try the game before they spend cash on it.

I still buy games that I find fun since I don't have to worry about the online part or updates/patches of the game not working because the company disabled pirated CD-keys.

Seriously… I'm not surprised. Just like what is stated above: “We, as rational customers have likely come to understand that if a company is willing to treat us all like pirates by enforcing strict DRM upon us, we’ll become pirates”

I honestly willing to buy the collector's edition of this game like I did to FFXII, Fable 1 & 2, Fallout 3, and Resistance 2. But thanks EA for giving me the “legal” reason to own a copy of spore from torrent…
