The World’s First Underwater Pogo Stick

By Luke Anderson

I like to think that I have some decent balance and coordination, but there are some rather simple things in this world that I’ve never managed to use properly. The pogo stick is one such thing. I’ve gotten it to bounce a few times in a row, but that’s really about it. Well I may finally be able to live out my childhood dream of actually bouncing more than a few times with this Underwater Pogo Stick.

I’m actually not entirely sure what the appeal of this device would be. You’ve essentially got a bouncy ball with a footboard and handles attached. You might be able to get a little more bounce, being underwater and all. However, most people have 4-foot deep pools that probably won’t be much fun to use this in. If you feel so inclined, you can pick one up for around $60.

Dear Hammacher: “…thank you?”. This is more confusing than useful, and at that price I doubt many will feel like giving it a whirl. I also could never get the pogo stick thing down as a kid, so maybe I just don’t understand the appeal either.
