Video Friday: Killer Bean Forever Is Awesomely, Awesomely Bad

A few years back, Jeff Lew was the lead animator on The Matrix Reloaded (he also worked on Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, the best scene of which involves a CGI ninja cow). What’s he been doing since then? His very own, feature length animated film. And when I say “his very own,” I mean that Jeff has done everything from the script to the final renders all by himself. It’s taken him 4 years working 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, and here’s the trailer. It’s called Killer Bean Forever, and it’s about killer beans:

No specific release date yet, but it’s reportedly almost done. I can’t wait.

    This is a very, very, very old video. Let me clarify, this was done a long time ago (probably by him) and I remember watching it at least 6 years ago and being very impressed. I'm wondering if this is a remake of the old one, or if it's a sequel or what.

    Im normally pretty open minded, but .... beans? C'mon. A 5-minute short film about killer beans, sure, even a saturday morning cartoon, but a movie about gun-toting beans? It's not a HORRIBLE idea, I guess.... but it's not awsome either.

    Don't get me wrong... the trailer was extremely well-made. The animation was awsome, the script was funny, and the voice acting was much better than most animated films (that aren't made using disney's deep pockets for funding).

    Overall, the quality of the trailer was very good... but beans? The top of Killer Bean's head looks like a butt. They don't even have mouth holes... just play-doh like lips. When he gets slapped, it looks like he's getting slapped in the eye and his eye's gonna fall out! It just looks like so much effort has been put into a sub-par concept. I'm sure it'll win "Best Movie About Talking Beans of the Year" award but much else. You can only take a talking bean movie so far...

    you idiot this is a fantastic job jeff has done i don't think any one would give up his very 4 important years of his life to just create a nonsense he has given everything he has for this movie and everyone should appreciate that. And what and why should it matter if the beans head is like butt or the mouth doesn't has whole think matter is people will love and enjoy his work and appreciate what he has done. As in the end animating such awesome thing is not a piece of cake. So appreciate it And one more thing not everyone is perfect. Even jeff can do mistakes even he is a human being so do not just look the bad part in the feature as he is the sole person who has done everything. We should see the 80 mins of awesome works he has done and neglect the 5 minutes of mistake that might have been there and appreciate his hard work and give him what he diserves. and sorry dude i didn't get you wrong but still i said what i felt.

    Next time, think before you "say what you feel". You sound like an illiterate fool and you've completely missed what KF is saying. However, instead of wasting an hour or so drawing up a huge essay as to why you sound like a complete moron, I'm going to go ahead and just let you figure that little mystery on your own.

    Its pretty obvious that none of you, inclusing the article's author, are old enough to rememebr the original Killer Bean flicks Jeff Lew put out over ten years ago. As it is you come off as mouthy idiots.

  • Well, Beanfan, it's true that I don't remember the original Killer Bean vids, but you can't blame me for that, can you? The originals (Killer Bean 1 and 2) are from the 90s.     Personly, I think kung pow sucked harder than most things on this side of the galaxy, but this actually looks pretty funny. Kung pow is possibly worse than epic movie. Possibly.
