This is great for rechargeables which you usually do not keep in the original packaging. I understand that they are developing a charger that will accept the entire Battery Caddy with batteries installed to re-charge as a unit and go. No more loading/unloading in and out of chargers. Pretty neat for professionals and people that use batteries on the go.

I am a photographer, and burn through a lot of batteries for my flash units. I moved to rechargeable batteries a few years ago, but always had a problem keeping track of what had been used and what was fresh. I've tried several systems before finding these battery caddies. I put them in correctly when they are fully charged, and put them in upside down when I've used them up. That way I can quickly find fresh batteries in my bag when I'm in a hurry, and I can keep sets together for recharging. I think they're a great product.

I buy mine from Countycomm (http://www.countycomm.com). they have quite a few oddities and I've had my battery caddies in 2 sizes for months now. As an aside, I can vouch for Countycomm's quality and staff.

I've had the glow in the dark model for 4 AA's in my flight bag for the last year. I really like this product. It never occurred to me to purchase one of these for home.
