The Secret History Of Video Games – Pac Gentleman

If you’re into the custom toy scene, and have a soft spot for video games you’ll probably like this class version of ‘Pac Gentleman’ as much as I do. Created by Doktor A, the piece unfortunately doesn’t run, but the metal arms and 3D sculpted characters give you an idea of how a mechanical version of Pac Man might actually work. I’m particularly fond of Pac Gentleman’s bowler hat too. If Ms. Pac Man can wear a bow, there’s no reason he can’t wear a hat. Anyways here’s the creators description of the piece:
“When this game was first released in 1880 it was so hugely popular in taverns and inns that the bank of England was forced to mint more threepenny bits to keep up with demand. The game was created by messrs Nam & Nam and Co. as a novelty pastime for the masses. Outdoing the previous top public house game of Shove Ha’penny.”
