evidently there are no skilled programmers that would enjoy the fame and wealth that would come with pioneering this technology. sad

OK, God. You can strike down the human race now and start over.

PS. while you're scouring the web, OhGizmo powers that be, perhaps you could find out if anybody in technology land has pulled their head out long enough to make a much cheaper "smart window" so normal people can have switchable home or car windows.

My grids printed on stacked transparencies that slide between "dark" and "mostly not dark" are nice, but they're mechanical...and not quite as cool.

Ok ... this is cool and all .. but ... by now we should have apps on our pcs that do this. On the audio side we have speech recognition... why don't we have non-speech pattern recognition... like an app that uses the mic to listen outside. It could tell you when someone is walking up the driveway, when the mailman has come, etc.... it could listen for abnormalities in the sound of your car, mower, chainsaw, air conditioner, ... on and on. Such a shame that no programmers have thought of this yet. It can't be any harder than making a speech recognition application.

I think with GPS and RFID this is not something Google needs to develop for helping with directions or what is located where. To much computer power will be needed to do that when you can use simple location indexing by systems already developed. The technology is super cool and is just making machines that much more closer to singularity.
