Max Blank Rotating Wood Stoves

Max Blank Berlin Stove (Image courtesy Max Blank)
By Andrew Liszewski

Looking for an unusual way to heat your home this winter? Max Blank produces a large range of designer, wood-burning stoves that don’t necessarily need to be installed in a corner or against a wall. The Berlin for example can be installed in the middle of your room, serving as a centerpiece as well as a room divider. The glass base even allows the stove to swivel 360 degrees so you can watch the fire and bask in its heat no matter where you’re sitting.

Now I’m not 100% sure if the rotating stove requires a chimney or not, but if they do you’re probably looking at quite a bit of renovation to retrofit one in your home. It also means apartment dwellers will probably have to do without. (Unless your neighbors upstairs are cool with a hole in their floor billowing smoke.)

I’d like to know where that cool red chair comes from.

WOW – that has to be the coolest stove I have ever seen. Are they fully certified?

Very interesting design. I wonder if these unique styles are available for use with pellets. Pellet stoves are more energy efficient and clean burning.

I'm sure that pipe in the middle is the chimney. What I'm curious about is how it gets fresh air into it. This definitely is a killer design. How come nobody here in America is coming up with as cool of designs as people form Europe? I'm only saying that because I came across Ecoteck wood pellet stoves the other day, and they are imported from Italy. Why can't we make units like this?
