Yes, you're correct, the suction cup on the MIO's mount does use a lever to create a tighter vacuum. And in all likelyhood the one on this plant pot does not. Thanks for the comments on the site, I'm glad you enjoy it.

AFAIK the suction cup that comes with you MIO GPS is the kind that has a lever to create a vacuum. These work brilliantly and do not dry out / lose their vacuum. The sucups on this product look exactly like the ones that are stuck on cheap IKEA crap that you can't really stick anywhere 'cause they're made of some soft but not soft enough plastic.
The whole gardener thing discussion I think is perhaps out of our league.

By the way: thank you for a very good site Andrew :) I read it almost daily.

I have to disagree about the suction cups drying out. The MIO GPS unit I use when driving suction cups to the inside of the windshield and even though it sits in the sun all day long it hasn't fallen off once in the last 6 months. And as for the herbs being toasted in the sun, I'm far from a gardener but I can't see this getting any more or less sun than herbs grown in a window box.

Just my words. From ooking at the hi-res pics at the ZO site, these will definetely fall down. The sun dries out suction cups in no time.
Oh yeah and most herbs don't really like being so much in the sun. It'll toast them.
Good idea but: Back to the drawing board.
