From what I can tell the high-tech benefits of this ‘Virtual’ Soccer Ball probably won’t improve your game but if you find yourself stuck on the bench during a match it’s probably a great way to kill some time. The ball has a small LCD display on one of the panels that will keep track of how long you can keep the ball in the air which I assume is just a measure of the ball’s hangtime after it’s been kicked.
The Virtual Soccer Ball also includes an “invisible sensor” that counts how many times you can juggle the ball with your feet. The simple fact that they’ve managed to create anything that’s actually invisible is quite impressive, but why they’ve decided to waste that technology by cloaking a sensor on a soccer ball is beyond me.
The Virtual Soccer Ball with its “invisible sensor” is available from the Discovery Channel Store for $24.95.
