When the terms ‘laptop’ and ‘notebook’ computer were first used they were probably rather appropriate since the devices were relatively small and compact when compared to a full desktop system. Over the past few years though the portable computer seems to have gained a few pounds so the term ‘desktop replacement’ has became more popular. But Samsung has decided that desktop replacement just isn’t enough and the company will soon be releasing the SENS G25 model that includes a massive 19 inch screen.
At this time not much is known about the G25 except for the fact that it will sport a 320 GB SATA hard drive and hopefully packs a decent amount of resolution into that screen. One thing is for sure though, looking at the current trend in ‘portable computing’ in 10 years we’ll have machines that fill entire rooms and will be referred to as ‘ENIAC replacements’ and we’ll look back and laugh at those 15 inch models we thought were so hi-tech.
