i have a lyksis wireless riouer will this work with that? will i be a ble to go in another room with my laptop? I have an older home with plaster walls and chicken wire in them.Have you ever heard that this is a problem?

The units will not extend the range of existing WiFi networks, so if you have a Cisco, DLink or Netgear home network, this unit will not extend the capabilities of your current network. Too bad!
