OGCC Day 7 – Voice Activated Christmas Lights

Voice Activated Christmas Lights (Image courtesy Solutions) By Andrew Liszewski

OGCC Day 7 (Image property of OhGizmo)So the tree is decorated to perfection but unfortunately now that it’s all done you suddenly realize you’ve got to climb down underneath all those branches in order to turn it on and off. One solution would be to simply leave the tree on for the entire month but an even easier one is to install this voice activated light switch instead.

Just plug the Intela Voice Dimmer into any outlet and then plug the end of your lights into it and you’re half-way there. Besides the ease of use the other advantage of the Voice Dimmer is that it doesn’t use a preset phrase to activate it but instead allows you to train it to respond to any word in any language. A simple “Merry Christmas” or “Lights” or even “Is it January yet?” will cause the controller to turn your lights on or off. And when the holidays are over you can re-program the activation phrase and use the dimmer all year round.

The Intela Voice Dimmer is available from Solutions.com for $19.95.

So when you set it to Merry Christmas and have people over on Christmas day your tree is going to go on and off! You’ll have to use an odd phrase like, “severed dog testicles in a cheddar cheese sauce” or something along those lines.
