I’ve never owned a USB flash drive for the simple reason that you can’t upgrade the storage space on them. I’ll even admit that these days they’re pretty much disposable given how cheap they are but for some reason I still can’t bring myself to buy one.
This mini hard drive case is clearly designed for people like me. It basically functions like any external HD case with a USB interface but takes either CF, Microdrive or other 1-inch hard drives. Sure I’ll admit that a standard card reader would work just as well but with something like this I wouldn’t be swapping different cards in and out anyways. And anyone who still has an old microdrive kicking around which were particularly fragile and couldn’t be dropped or bent will be happy to have the extra protection this case provides.
