Sony Ericsson W44S Multimedia Phone

I’ve recently started looking around for a new cell phone and not because there’s anything wrong with the current one I use but just because it’s been a while since I’ve had a new toy to play with.

Well I think the hunt is over now that I’ve laid eyes on this new Sony Ericsson multimedia phone. Besides the huge QVGA screen that incorporates BRAVIA technology (Sony is really trying to pass that BRAVIA tag around these days aren’t they?) the W44S also uses a dual-hinge setup allowing you to flip the screen around to almost any configuration. The phone also has 115Mb of internal memory, a 1Seg TV tuner with video recording capabilities and a 3.2 megapixel camera.

Unfortunately given the fact this phone has a 1Seg TV tuner it will probably never make its way to North America but a boy can dream. Pricing and availability for the W44S has not been announced either.

  • Oh...my...goodness. Wow.
  • Alex
very nice, i dont like the nob on the side though.
  • I think it looks great. Still not sure about the bit on the site though... that would be nicer if it was not there :) Still looks like a great peice of kit though.
  • Agreed on the bit, but as far as sony-ericsson phones go, this one is stunningly beautiful.
There seems to be some kind of pen stuck on the side of the screen part, touch screen?
