MojoPac – Mobile Gamers’ Dream Comes True?

By Ian Chiu

Most of us have seen USB app platforms ranging from U3 to Ceedo, Though, all these either require complete recompile or extensive tweaking before programs become totally mobile, meaning no Windows registry modifications and file footprint left behind. MojoPac is different in that you can literally install anything, whether it’s Age of Empire, World of Warcraft, PhotoShop or Outlook. It sounds like a dream come for mobile gamers or professionals. There are many instances in which you can make good use of MojoPac. For example, your kids install game demos like crazy, but you don’t exactly want them to mess around with your Windows. MojoPac will come in handy. Students can also finish up project that only run on odd piece of software on a friends’ PC.

In reality, you will need a lot of patience (for MojoPac to mature), a super fast USB 2.0 flash drive, not the iPod nano 2GB whose speeds have been dragged down by 40% over previous version, and admin rights everywhere to run the mobile platform.
