The PetPeek

The Pet Peek (Image courtesy Best Friends Care)By Andrew Liszewski

There are a lot of products on the market designed to stop a dog from barking while they’re in a fenced-in yard and most of them probably work quite well except for the fact they tend to be quite expensive. Since most of the time the dog is just curious as to who or what is on the other side of the fence why not just let them see?

The PetPeek is a 10-inch clear plastic dome that’s designed to be installed on a fence at the height of the dog giving them a window to the world they may rarely get to see. While I question the site’s claim that the dome is “an attractive addition to your fence” I do agree that most of the time it will probably ease the dog’s curiousity and as a result mean less barking. Of course the biggest question I have is how do the makers of the PetPeek actually expect the thing to stay clean with a dog’s snout constantly pressed up against the dome? Better keep the hose handy.

The PetPeek is available on their website for $29.98.

Aye chihuahua! A dog would have even MORE at which to bark!

my neighbor just cut a hole in his fence and put screen over it.... viola

Why not just cut out a hole smaller than the dog's body (which you'd have to do anyway if you used this)? Why do you need the bubble, unless your dog it a biter?

Lord - this would just give my dog more stuff to bark at. No thanks.
  • This is a great solution for my dogs

This is a great idea. I live next door to dog my groomer/ kennels and my baby loves to watch the dogs come and go!
