The Virtual Fluid Interactive Application

virtual interaction

By David Ponce

The Virtual Fluid application would have been impossible many years ago. But now, with better, juicier graphic cards and processors, the folks at Inition were able to create a very cool graphic interaction application. This is how it works: you’ve got a camera filming you. That video is then interpreted by the software, and allows you to intereact, in real time, with virtual objects projected on a screen. For example, the screen will have rain drops falling. As you as you come into the field, the rain bouces off you, or collects in a cranny in your arm, or rolls around your back, or a thousand other awesome things.

And yeah, I know none of this sounds terribly exciting when it’s just described. That’s why there’s a video inside for y’all to enjoy. We’ll leave it up to you to come up with practical applications for such a system.
