USB Nintendo NES Controllers

If you’re tiring of the analog controls and well thought out ergonomics of today’s PC USB controllers and instead find yourself reminiscing about the classic days of gaming then you’ll want to head over to RetroZone.

They’ve taken all of the NES controllers and have modded them to function on a PC or Mac VIA USB. No drivers are required and the controllers are compatible with WinXP, Win2K, OS9, OSX and Linux/Unix. While they might not be the best choice for playing Half-Life 2 they’re perfect for emulated versions of 1942 or Gauntlet.

The USB Nintendo NES controllers range in price from $30 for the classic NES controller to $70 for the PowerGlove. And if the classic NES isn’t your thing RetroZone also has USB-modded controllers from the SNES, Atari, Commodore, Genesis, Turbografx, Intellivision, Colecovision, Sega Saturn, 3DO and even the Vectrex!

I purchased a USB controller from these guys a few years back as an Xmas present for my then-girlfriend. These guys do awesome work. The controller was still in fantastic shape (minus a few dings that I think every NES controller had after a while) and even the USB cable looked and felt much more solid than the cable that comes with retail controllers from Gravis/Logitech/etc.

I'm prolly gonna order one for myself soon. I recommend these guys 100%
  • how come they dont make an external nes2usb connector adapter? I already have multiple controllers and I'd like to use them on both my pc and NES.

I like the idea, but I really have an issues with the legality of Roms. Mostly, the fear that someone at a place where I would get my PC fixed..would see the roms and report me to the feds or something. I don't wanna go to jail!! AHH! Sorry..Got a little carried away there.

I like the look of the site, with the original Mario Bros. graphics.
