Scrubbing Bubbles Shower Cleaner

Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner (Image courtesy S.C. Johnson & Son)By Andrew Liszewski

While cleaning the shower has become a lot easier these days thanks in part to some clever chemists it still requires some bit of effort. Even something as simple as spraying a bottle after the morning shower still seems like too much work for most of us.

S.C. Johnson & Son has introduced a shower cleaning solution that reduces the workload down to pushing a single button after every shower. (We’re getting closer!) Simply hang the unit from your showerhead and when the button is pushed a nozzle sprays the cleaning solution in complete circles up to 8 feet away ensuring every inch of the shower gets covered. Combined with the still wet shower the cleaning solution automatically works to dissolve mildew, stains and soap scum.

The Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic shower cleaner retails for about $30 and includes 4 AA batteries and 2 bottles of cleaning solution. (Which will last for about 21 cleanings each.) Refill bottles are available for about $5.

Skeptical, I tried this because I hate to clean. To my surprise it got rid of the brown and pink mold growing in my basement shower- and took the shower scum off the glass door- it looks great!

Um, any idea what's in this cleaner? Is it something you want to expose yourself to every single day?
Plain white vinegar diluted with water will also get rid of mildew and mold in the shower...or you could give yourself and your family cancer with this product instead. Really, it is a tough call.
  • Sweet. I was looking for this product but couldn't remember its name.
