You do realize that one day, in the near future, we will be whipped into slavery by our robotic overlords, right? The robot news we bring you from time to time are nothing but the foreboding signs of our impending subjugation. So, you know, as long as you’re aware of it, it’s ok.
Take the “LWA”: the Light-Weight Arm with PowerCube technology, from SCHUNK and Amtec Robotics. Its claim to fame is that it’s made from carbon fiber, making it very light and very rigid. It does a bunch of stuff, like many other industrial robot arms… but this one is very light.
So, yeah. That’s it. It’ll kick your ass quicker if it’s lighter. Or something.
