[...] Well, somewhat similar in nature to another service recently featured here, this site offers up sound effects for you to play loudly whenever you wish to have an excuse to get off the phone. There’s a bunch of things. From car alarms going off, to jet planes passing by to a ringing doorbell. [...]

It's for real, it's a number that only charges standart phonerates, but then again if you are calling from outside Denmark, it might be a bit expensive. The only problem I see with it is:
A: The introdution to the service takes about 1½ minute, so your standing there looking like a fool, while your waiting for your "conversation" to start
B: it's in english, since it's a service, that probably only will have danish users, they might as well have made it in our native language (maybe they think that when your having the conversation in english, it makes you even more important)

On the site it says that the service is designed for http://www.index2005.dk/, which is a designer-award-thingy happening in Copenhagen (Capital of Denmark, for those who don't know) today (friday 23th)
I could see this fun thing happening: At some time, when everybody is hanging around the bar, waiting for the event to start. Two or more people end up besides each other, using this service to seem important. I wonder what would happen then ?
Will they look at each other and laugh;
Hurry to different places in the room;
Pretend as nothing;
Hang up an leave the place, because they have just been caught having no friends.

At least one person is bound to have the volume so high on their cellphone, that the person next to them can hear the prerecorded message. I really wish I could be the person besides the guy with the high volume :-D
