The Barcode SS Watch

By David Ponce

First off, I think I’ve seen this thing around before. So don’t go thinking the Novelty God just pooped it yesterday.

In any case, I came across this watch, and thought it looked pretty slick. Then, not exactly being able to figure out how to, you know, read the time on it, I asked Paul, from Tokyoflash. Well, I have to say, even after reading his kind explanation half a dozen times, I still feel as bright as Punxsutawney Phil. Maybe you can give it a crack:

The Barcode SS watch has 4 columns of lights.
The first two columns are used to display the hour & the second two for the minutes.

Lights in the first column indicate 5 hours and in the second column 1 hour.
So if it was 17.45pm there would be 3 lights in the first column & 2 in the second.
3×5=15 + 2 = 17

For the minutes columns its the same principle but the 3rd column counts in 10 minute blocks & the 4th column counts in 1 minutes – so for 17.45pm the 2nd two columns would display 4 & 5 lights respectively.

Sounds complicated, but it’s easier to use than to explain.

Uh huh, I’ll take your word for it, Paul.

Should you really like it as well, it can be yours for about $160. Check it out right here.
